Angry Fender Bender..

Man i was pissed this lady is backing out of her parking spot as i am honking at her and bam she nails me, not much damage, some scratches and a little dent. she asked me to just call her with the estimate as she doesnt want to use her insurance.. Anyways i have a couple questions, do you think a body shop will paint the whole bumper? If so how much extra will it cost to have them shave off my nissan burger? Also as for the little dent, they should be able to pop that out huh, rather than replacing the entire bumper..?

Dont mind all the splattered bugs you can see a dent on the left right by the wheel, and a couple scrathes(2 main ones)..

That sucks... did you at least get her insurance info in case she tried to duck you? I would have still filed a police report to make sure it's documented and to get her a freakin ticket.

Anyway, yeah, it'll probably pop out. They'll paint whatever you pay them to paint. As for the burger, they won't charge too much.

The bumper is a cover. Some body shops would rather not:

Remove
Sand
Prime
and paint. Its too labor intensive.

A new bumper cover ready to paint is less that $300.

Replace the bumper - If they try and fix your current one it will never look right. Remove and replace. Or get them to pick up a V1/2 nismo and paint and install for the same price!!

I was nice "ONCE" and didn't call the police or insurance for the same situation. Person stiffed me and I tried everything in the book to get them to fix my car. My rule: At a minimum, regardless who is at fault, I call the police.

I got bumper raped by a honda accord saturday afternoon. I was doing 30 and trying to turn and the woman with her yap yap toy yorkee didn't see me and nailed my bumper at 50 mph. She hit the car hard enough to cause my quarter panel to crease up and throw off the body panel alignment. I do so love women who speed carelessly because they are running late to get their manicures for them and their dogs. The best comment was, "I guess I'll be late for my mani/pedi..."

$613 to take off my bumper cover, sand down, primer, paint, fill scratches and pop out the dent.. Now I went to a pretty big well known company here in Austin(probably pricier than others). I am wondering, should I purchase an aftermarket bumper, perhaps nismo v2 or Aerosync, and then just take it to a place that will be a little cheaper..? What do you guys think? If i stick with the stock bumper I will have them shave my emblem and License plate off as well.. I know this place will do it good and right, so I may just stick with it rather than getting a cheaper job done..

$350 to repaint and cover the badge area. You're better off taking the cash and getting an aftermarket bumper and paint for around $600-$650 and using your stock bumper as a backup.

Albert (knows from experience; already on 4th bumper)

Do your own removal/reinstall, it's not that bad, save some money.

Yeah man that does suck. I doubt they will paint the whole bumper. All my experience they just paint the spot and blend.
