Yesterday I took my Z for a little mountain run, nothing too extreme, and the roads aren't too bad. However, once I returned and since then, my car has been making some strange squeak coming from the right rear at random times, during both acceleration, breaking, and cruising. It sounds similar to break squeal, but lower pitched and similar to some kind of metal sliding on another piece of metal . However it hasn't affected performance at all, and I'm quite sure I didn't mess anything up while driving, so I'm at a loss as to what it could be. Anybody else experienced anything similar? I'll probably bring it into the dealership sometime this week.

 

I've recently been experiencing the exact same thing. It sounds like it's coming from the strut bar or something, behind the passenger side. It seems to occur mainly when I turn or go down an incline and turn. No damage done here either, just appeared out of nowhere. If you take it in, let me know what they tell you. I was going to go to the dealership in a couple of weeks when I have a free weekend as well.

 

maybe a rear axle click/squeak? my right rear does it right now, still gotta go get it TSB'ed
