This thread will probably be moved as well seeing how it is not 350z related.

I don't doubt that. But c'mon...."general" is defined as "not specialized or limited to one class of things ; somewhat indefinite".

There's like six active threads going on the page and the rest are moved.

Yes, but it's not just "general" it's actually "general" > "350Z" so I assume it should contain topics somewhat 350Z related.

I posted my issues about oil consumption and it got moved to the Repairs forum. I wasn't taking about how to repair it, but ranting about the issue and discussing my experience with my Z. I also asked others for their experiences... too much crap gets thrown into these other forums that most don't ever read...

LOL. This is for 350Z threads that are NOT addressed specifically in the other forums.

^that makes good sense in theory, but the problem arises when a thread gets moved to some random forum that few people check.

like all the oil consumption threads...if those had been originally posted in the Repairs forum, I seriously doubt there would be half the responses.

honestly, there's just WAY too many sub-forums to keep up with them all. There's not enough time in the day. I restrict myself to about 3 forums, plus about 5 sub-forums within those and I still am on here a good 2 hrs most days.

i realize the powers that be are in a lose-lose situation with trying to please people and just do the best they can, but those are just my .02

The General 350Z forum is for questions that don't belong in one of the other subject-specific forums. Don't post about wheels and tires, there's another forums specifically about them. If you have a question about body kits, there's a forum for that.

Mainly, the stuff that belongs in this forum are general questions about the Z.

You all get the idea, right?

So if we throw everything in a single forum, that's going to make it easier to find and read?

Admittedly, some things are subject to intrepretation but to me, questions about oil consumption fall under either Repairing or the "Engine, Drivetrain..." forum.

On this same subject - as a reminder, there is a Terms Of Use rule regarding this...

5.) APPROPRIATE FORUMS
Please post your topics in the appropriate forums. This makes it easier for all members as well as the forum staff. Failure to do so will results in warnings. Multiple warnings will cause banishment.

Although I've never heard of anybody being banned for repeatedly posting in the wrong place, I've had to remind several newbies that they don't need to start every post they make in the General 350Z forum.

Agree. The more sub-forums that you have, the more likely that a new thread will be started in the wrong forum. Sometimes I will follow an interesting thread, then a couple of hours later wonder where the hell it went.

I agree on threads getting moved to easily. Mods need to cut some slack. My only complaint with the guys running the show is they are all a little to **** on getting everything in just the right 'box".

It's all open to interpretation and I guess that's why you guys get paid the big bucks.

I know you're just trying to help catalog stuff, but some things need to be left to the general forum... maybe leave it in there and catalog after no reponses for 5 days or something...

Well, five days may be to long, but bofa is on to something here. I can easily see the "everything in its right box" bean counter mentality mod on here seeing a thread with 100 responses in an hour and saying "Oh, this belongs in xxxxx forum" & click regardless if anyone ever goes to xxxx.

Leave it in general for a couple days; if interest ain't much, move it.

I generally am very supportive of the way this site is admined/moded but this is one area where y'all could improve.
