How long does the battery last?
I have a 2003 350Z Touring with Navi 6 speed and one 10" sub and 600watt RF amp.
I just had my drive belts changed 2 weeks ago and my car was fine. All of sudden today my car wouldn't start while I was at a restaurant. It started perfect up until then.
The drive belts don't squeak or anything, but is there a possibility they could be loose? Is it just time for the battery to go? I assume the battery is about 4 years old.
Need help!

The belts are on ok, they're still there. There's just a little play on them, but it's not a lot. I have daily driven my Z for 20 days since the drive belt change.
Have you 2003 Z guys changed your batteries yet?

hey, i have an '03 performance (61k miles) and about 3-4 days ago i could tell that it wasn't cranking as quickly as it should...the volt display reads fine when the car is on and charging (alternator is ok and meter displays about 14.2 volts) but tonight a simple test let me know the battery was weak...just switch the key to on and allow the meter to read your volts...mine read 14 and immediately fell to 12...after sitting for about 10 seconds i tried to crank the car- it started but barely.
my airbag light has began flashing as well- i was told by a friend at infiniti that it may be the battery...i reset the airbag light and it stayed off for about 5 days but now has returned it's annoying flash...if i try to reset it now, it remains flashing...
i will get the battery checked out tomorrow but since my car was manufactured in sep. 2002, it's probably on it's way out...

Mine arrived November 2002 , and the battery is still strong as a mule . Here's a tip why : keep a battery tender on it when you are not driving it for anything over a few days and you'll have that battery last longer . Of course you'll probably need a garage to make this work out for you . I've done this with all my cars (eg. have a 6 year old battery in my BMW still strong as day 1 ) . I expect another 2 years , at the least , from the Z's battery .The battery tender insures that . I have two of them . ( www.batterytender.com ) Check it out . Batterytenders are very reasonable , price wise . I use the junior tenders ,small and inexpensive , and they're great if you store your car for the winter. I keep a permanent attachment on my Z's battery and just hook up the tender when I need it .You never have to check it , even for months at a time . Good luck !
I'm starting to have power issues with my battery as well. I unlock my doors get in then go to start it and nothing. Its been happening for a few weeks now. It happened once, then two weeks later. then a week later then almost every start. I got some time to check it out and tightened the cable on the battery...all was well for a week then it happened again. I just toggle the cable a little then it works. I'm getting ready to bring it in or try buying a new battery????

Well I went to autozone and had this helpful guy test my battery. It was reading 8.93 volts!!!! Then it goes back up to 12volts after 15 seconds or so.
He said it should read at least 10.5 volts initially.
So I bought a new duralast battery for $49.99. They took my core battery, and he helped me put the battery in. Car seemed to start up stronger than normal.
I have an '03 that had a build date in late 2002. So I guess it's time. I'll let you guys know how well it works after a couple weeks of driving on the new battery.
The best part is the duralast battery comes with a 2 year free replacement warranty and a 7 year 84,000 mile warranty, which is prorated. That's more than I could ask for.
