Try this before you give up on the stock seats....

I actually find the Z quite smooth and comfy on the highway. Then again I prefer a sports suspension over a plush lexus-like suspension because I like to be more connected to the road and feel in control.

Anyone else have this happen?

BTW- i have a touring with the leather seats

Anyone have COMFORTABLE aftermarket seats in? I have sparco torinos I plan to put in soon.
if you think the Z seats are uncomfortable, wait until you put one of those racing sparco seats in (or any other brand of racing seat) those are not designed for comfort at all. thing is, the Z is a sports car, the seats are what they are. what did you expect? i have been on 9+ hour drives in the Z and have no complaints at all, I enjoyed the ride and have no complaints with them at all. of course i have the cloth seats. but it seems to me you are just trying to justify buying racing seats

Coming from a sportbike, this car feels like Mercedes.

I drove 4 hrs from SD to LA and back to pick up parts in my old Z. I loved it.. it was fun and never had a dull moment. Quite comfortable if you ask me. I also had tanabe springs install that were 1 inch drop so that made a big difference in the ride. Less bouncy, more stiff, more scrap.

I drive from atlanta to raleigh on a regular basis, and i thought i was going to get shaken half to death. (stiff suspension on less than stellar roads.) But the seats are pretty comfortable. If you want to go easy on your back, change your driving position regularly, and stop every couple of hours.

I recently drove 4+ hours from SA to Fort Worth for an HPDE event, spent 8+ hours in the track, then drove back 4+ hours to SA. I was more comfortable in my Z than my pickup truck & I got to my destination and back faster & it was more fun driving.

Just drove 660 miles straight from Myrle Beach to Columbus and no complaints at all. It helps to adjust the seat and steering wheel tilt a bit every couple of hours. I've got the stock cloth seats and it seemed to help to bump the bolster under the legs all the way down - I usually have it just the opposite.

tell me about it... you have to fit the seat perfect or they start to wear on you.. not to mention my turboback exhaust and external waste gate... made the car a little noisy...

I drove from Los Angeles to San Antonio in my Z. It wasn't too bad. Just had to get up and stretch on refueling breaks and I was set. No complaints, it was a fun drive.

As always its safe to say a 350z/impreza etc etc isnt going to be as comfortable as an escalade.. haha, but i would say Nissan did a pretty good job with the design of these cars for driving.

Try 1000 miles straight with no cruise control, leg cramps like a *****. Corbeu racing seats are comftrable, probably more so than the Z ones.

I do 6 hr drives all the time and come out feeling refreshed. To me the most important part about modding a car is making it fit the driver.

+1 me too. The Z is louder inside, but the seats are way more comfortable.

Bothers my back as well. Get a lumbar support per post above. Other thing I do is put a couple of folded towels on seat. Part of the problem is the angle of the seat to the back...too steep. The towels reduce the angle.

I'm 6'2" & about 210 lbs.

The only thing that bugs me is my head is about 1/2" from the headliner and sometimes when I hit a bump/dip/etc on the freeway my head hits the roof, its not a hard hit but still it gets tiresome after a while.

I've driven 6+ hours with no problem (stock suspension). When moding the suspension there's a comfort>-<performance factor... Oh, take your wallet out of your back pocket! hehe...
