I need an exhaust leak so my car will whistle and pick up a second in the 0-60!

This thread is just funny. My Z whines as well. Aren't the transmissions supposed to be quite loud on these things?

Good to see you back again. Go to the dragstrip and post time slips in the drag racing forum. See what your car is running.

My shifter whines sometimes when it's really cold until it warms up. I have a short shifter though. Other than that, the transmission isn't loud at all.

Flame me if you want, but what it could be is light weight flywheel...it whines and gets the revs up faster thus giving him the feeling it has more power as far as 159 stock yes this happens to a lot Z's how many of you get up that fast it takes a lot of road and a safe place ...you cant even hardy get that fast on a dragway...it takes interstate road. Poor guy now he will never come back. Give him some slack he is a newbie.

I have the stock shifter in mine. It whines during acceleration, and you can only hear it at under 4k rpm or so. It sounds like gear whine. I figured it must be the transmission. Maybe that's what he's hearing.

In a stock z it would be harder to accelerate from 0-60 with a lightweight flywheel because of less rotating mass to get the car moving. And even then it wouldn't get you 4.2 second 0-60 times.

What did you use to measure that 0-60? g-tech or something like that?

Besides the drivers you've been racing being a possibility for you kick *** Z, where did you come up with the 0-60 in 4.2 that you quoted?

He probably was using the display on the radio to count up to that. Anyone else do that, you just hit the back button on the cd player and take off, when you hit 60, look down and see what time the cd is at now!
