There has been communication up until Saturday. First he said that it would ship last Tuesday and then Wednesday and then Friday and then Saturday but, I haven't heard from him since Saturday morning when he said that it was being picked up and that he would provide the tracking numbers.

also this whole argument about paying the 3% fee was discussed beforehand and was asked for only because there was another buyer willing to pay the price posted, so in order to beat his offer i suggested that if you want to pay the 3% difference then its all yours. that is all.

So it's ok for your "girlfriend" to charge the 3% PayPal fee?
Also, I see where the OP hasn't received the product yet.
If you don't want your business to get a bad name, perhaps you should avoid shady side deals, at least on the site(s) you sponsor.

I got scammed! In addition to the above mentioned shipping issues, the packaging was poor, there were no center caps as promised and worst was the condition of the wheels which were described in the add as dead mint dealer take offs.

Each of the 4 wheels looks like they had been dragged on their face on the ground. It didn't look like rash, just poorly stored and moved around on their face. Additionally, there are some pretty nasty gouges in them.

I'm off to notify Pay Pal and my credit card company.

Dang, that sucks. I guess this topic was valid all along.

Good luck with PayPal and the CC company.

Pay Pal was a big help:

"Our investigation into your claim is complete. As stated in our User
Agreement, the claims process only applies to the shipment of goods. It
does not apply to complaints about the attributes or quality of goods
received. Therefore, we are unable to reverse this transaction or issue a
refund."

You're going to have to take that claim up with this shipping company. UPS and FedEx are pretty good about this kind of stuff. Wheels are a b!tch to ship and the first two sets I ordered online, each had at least one damaged wheel. My last shipment was okay though.

Nevermind... just saw pics... omg.. worst packaging job EVER..

That damage was not caused in shipping.

Why are you saying your were "scammed"? Isn't the dealer/sponsor going to give you a full refund?

I think you need to relax and deal with the seller directly—Give him a chance to make right. The Payment hold issue is with Paypal. You were willing to pay the extra 3% for the wheels, so what if Paypal says you shouldn't have to, it was worth it to you to secure the purchase of something you wanted and made your mind up to do it before clicking send. It's not like the seller got you to agree to one price, then dinged your credit card for more.

On such an order, I would expect he got shipping insurance which would cover any damage to the wheels. Try talking to him about it in a mature fashion instead of crying about it online. You already had the guy on the defensive before you even got to this issue only making it worse. Are the scratches past the paint and into the metal or just scuffs on the surface? You can probably get them buffed out and have UPS pay.

We are here to help any fellow Z owner, but I think you involved us too early. g/l

The seller is online on this site right now but, hasn't contacted me. If you've been following this thread, he's been acting sketchy from the beginning. At no time did I complain about paying the 3%. My initial complaint was the bogus claim by the seller of having to wait for a Pay Pal payment to clear and the unnecessary wait for shipping.

As I stated earlier, the damage to these wheels did not occur in shipping even though they were poorly packaged. There are plenty of scratches and gouges that are into the metal. They are not "dead mint" and "dealer takeoffs" as was mentioned by the seller in the add.

I also called Performance Motorsports this morning to talk to him and was told that he wasn't in today. That's the 2nd time that that has happened.

In my experience, even with Preferred members, it will take 24 hours for funds to be deposited from his paypal account to his bank. That is probably what he was waiting for before releasing the wheels as it has been documented that seller's can get scammed by buyers that revoke payment through Paypal. Only way to get some assurance is to have it in your bank before shipping.

His late shipping was his laziness, Yes. Poor packaging and misrepresenting product his fault as well.

Did you use your credit card or bank account through Paypal?

Why a sponsor on this site would risk the name of his business and sell crap like this is beyond me.
Those are some pretty banged up wheels

Cardboard and tape with no support or packing material in the hollow of the backside of the rim.

In reality, as poor as it was, the way that they were shipped wasn't the problem. They were obviously damaged prior to shipment and knowingly shipped in that condition.
