Anyone happy with a stock z
you have to take people on this forum as a very low percentage of Z owners. Just about everyone who posts on this forum is a Z enthusiasts not just your average Z owner. 95% of the Z's on the road are going to be stock, so yes, most people are very content on keeping their Z's stock. my350z members are the 5% who consider their Z's more then just a vehicle that takes you from point A to point B.

I love my car like no other and every mod though few has added even more to that. The tinted windows and even the clear bra. When I added the Nismo exhaust it only got better. Now my car will basically remain stock with small power and handling mods as time goes on. Frankly from stock to modded, its an easy car to love. If can find a daily driver to give me the same type of exhiliration, driving life will be about perfect.
Does anyone other than me realize the cost of FI vs a new, more powerful, engine?
In about 3 years I'll be replacing the engine with something probably from builtzmotors.com. That way I'll still get the 550hp but not have to worry about FI headaches. For me, engines are easy to upkeep, mods ON engines are a little more difficult. plus 5100 approx for a new engine vs 5500 for FI depending on what you get. I'm not a guru about mechanics, but that's my opinion so far, feel free to discuss.
Plus if you mod your Z using only Nismo parts it's still technically stock...

I'm plenty happy with my near-stock Z...the only engine mod I currently have is a PopCharger, and outside of maybe adding a new exhaust, I don't see myself doing any other performance modifications.
The only thing that I have added to my ZR is a K&N air filter....oh, and a pair of Nismo floor mats (funny, I don't notice any performance improvements with the Nismo mats). However, eventually I do want to upgrade my stock rims and exhaust. I am going to wait until I need new tires before I start looking at rims, and then the exhaust after that.
Oh, an intake too.

The only thing stock on my car, is the passenger side dashboard......oh wait...and my windshield wipers...just the fronts...I already deleted the rear.
But seriously, when I first purchased the 350Z, it was an impressive OEM car, and certainly could hold its own with anything in its class. I think people mod their car, primarily as a hobby. But as others have mentioned, there are plenty of bone stock Z's out there, and their owners are probably perfectly happen with them. Nothing wrong with that!

The Motul 300v has suggested intervals in the 15K range, with 2 filter changes in between. With FI, we are pretty religious about doing more frequent oil changes, due to the richer than normal AF ratios at WOT.
