Yeah, that is precisely the reason I don't go street racing with people in Dallas anymore. Its just not safe the way people don't take care of their cars nowdays. Plus the cops are always around.

Ha Ha Ha Ha. My favorite thing is when people add lots of NOS and other goodies to their car, but don't think about the brake upgrade. There's a car you want behind you in traffic.

I'm sure your friend is going to be a very sad individual for a while. He's out a car, he's out some skin, and he probably feels stupid. He is however lucky to be alive. Street racing is very very dangerous as your adrenaline does all the thinking (sometimes referred to as your dick) and you're in a totally uncontrolled environment. Tell your friend to go to a driving school at the local race track (no NOS allowed) if he gets the speed urge again. Among other things, the track schools teach you self control. It's a very safe place to get the urge out of the your system. I use to be a speed demon, but, now I get overtaken by minivans all the time...

You didn't say whether you encouraged him to race or not. It's easy to blame the driver, but you as a passenger may have been able to influence him, or get yourself out of the car while you were sitting at the light.

We are all responsible for our behavior in situations like these.

(My friend has a tendacy to shift gears 2x as fast. Meaning if he should be on 2 his on 4. lol) So it took us a while mabye 6 secs. Behind the wheel we see some old dude with a chick beside him. So my friend challenges this guy to race, we stop at the red light and we wait. Both cars are in neutral pressing the gas, a big Fast and Furious scene. heh. Well the light turns green the Z06 flys to the front mabye by 4 cars, while the 328i is managing to keep up, barely. Before we go il give a little profile on his car

Supercharger
2 small bottles of NOS
ECU chip

The Z06 is going even faster now (around 100mph), and my friend gets furious, so he adds some Nitro to the engine. TO our luck he forgot to upgrade his fuel injectors, guess what, the engine BLEW. We began to reel from side to side and flew into the guard rail. I quickly ran out of the car expecting the other bottle to burst at any given moment (The car was burning) My friend was stuck, and slowly the fire crept towards him and his bottle. The Z06 swurfed around drove towards us, on the OPPOSITE side of traffic, risking his life. He got out ran over to the car with me and we opened the door and began to pull him out. A big scene with 5 people who helped. After he got out the Z06 owner threw out the chick in the seat (literally) and drove me friend to the hospital. He has 2nd degree burns all over his chest. 2 months in the hospital and he should be fine, as for me, all i got was a bruised leg.

Shows you how some people who look like spoiled and idiotic, can end up saving your life.
Although I don't condone street racing, I don't think the Z06 owner was being spoiled and idiotic, rather just having a friendly pull. Just because he gapped you guys doesn't mean he's spoiled and idiotic, its just a faster car. Would you do the same if you were in his position? would you think of yourself as spoiled and idiotic if you did the same?
