Ok, I’ve owned two sedans before the Z, never owned a coupe. especially one without rear seats. The days that it rains, I can almost hear every bit of water I’m splashing in the rear with my tires inside the car from my seat. I can almost bet this is normal but I just want to make sure.
P.S. I searched and jesus, everyone and their mother has noise issues so I couldn’t find anything through the billion noise threads.

Just read another thread that said there are open holes in the trunk area, if you lift your carpet up you will see them. Someone posted that in Japan Nissan has to put some sort of jump seat back there so that's why the holes are there, but they didn't bother to plug them for the North American models, which allows extra noise to enter the cabin. One member sealed them and put dynamat over the top of it and has said the noise level has dropped quite a bit

OP, not you
Don't worry about the sloshing noise unless the car fell off a bridge a second earlier.

It is heavy considering its a mat like material and has the consistancy of 3M stip caulk. Honesty, the weight is unnoticable.
I did spray on undercoating in the wheel wells on the sheet metal and fatmat in the trunk area, I don't hear the rain anymore.
Now if I can figure out where my headliner rattles, I will be in business.

Essentially the wheel wells are 24-inches from your ears.
Nissan do not pack the 350Z with an additional 100 pounds of sound deadening material.
