Future Z Owner here..help me out please!
Hey guys!
First of all..I started off as a Mustang kind of guy haha. I have a 2002 Mustang GT that I'm selling right now and I was going to get a 2003/2004 Cobra...but then I decided..sh*t I want to get a Z. My aunt has one and I think there unbelievable..and something different and waay more rare. You see Mustangs everywhere..It's time for a change. My budget is like $26,000 Canadian bucks tops...and I plan on getting a Z by June/July. I am very very excited to start on something new like this! I hear that Twin Turbo kicks *** on them!
I just wanted to find out what you guys think of my decision and what I should look out for with these beautiful cars!
Thanks a lot!
Chris

Maybe I'm biased because I already own one, but I'd suggest that a track model offers the biggest bang for the buck. Great Brembo brakes and lightweight Rays wheels are an excellent package to start with. For the difference on the used car market, I'd put my money there.
In Canada, there may be other important differences in models and packages for the Z...

Hey welcome,
I would look for '05 models and up, but for $26k OTD probably wont happen. Unless you were extremely lucky and one day went down to a dealer during a snow storm or something.. lol
But since you want to go FI right away I would look for a solid '04 track, get it checked at a knowledgeable dealer and ask them to perform any TSB's and such.
Search the forum for more answers, you will find lots.
Cheers,

I like the touring the best. I like all the bells and whistles. Besides living in Canada you need heated seats....eehh
Mustangs are like as....oles....everbody has one. For every 50 stangs I see in my town I might see 1 Z car. I have an 2003 and have never had one problem in 37K. Good luck shopping and welcome.

I have been regularly "smoking" the 5.0 Mustangs when dicing on the freeway... The Mustang owner just does not want to believe that the Z's 3.5liters can outrun his 5.0 liters. We'll have to prove it to them on a regualr basis...
