Weighing the car with a driver one year, and no driver another year.
My Mid-A members DID weigh their cars at a Track day event @ MIR and one our member's Stock 2006 model weighed 3230 lbs.

I agree. I don't understand why some continue to ignore all the evidence presented by members here, in favor of anecdotes
It's not just one person doing the weighing, but I haven't seen anyone able to confirm this supposed increase.

I actually thought this whole weight mix up was resolved months ago.

The trick is to forget theoretical he said she said nissan said bs. Weigh your car, don't worry about the next person or what the magazine says, and go from there.... then there is nothing to debate or fight over.
My '04 base weighs 3300lbs (+/- 5lbs) with me in it (170lbs) and 1/4 tank of gas. I have splash guards, kick panels, aero kit, front floor mats, no spare/tools, and a mostly stripped rear interior.
People compile or list all these weights....and without all the details they are just meaningless numbers as far as I'm concerned. Then you have the people who lie/cheat/steal just to muck up the water and what's the point? Who cares anyway?

Here's a perfect example of misinformation. This reviewer has no clue what he's talking about.
First he claims that the 2006 Z weighs 3400 lbs. Then he states the 2006 Zs redline is 6250 rpm?
Last time I checked it was 7000 rpm. The jackass probably also thinks the red light flashing is permanently fixed @ 6,250 rpms.

Its 260 lb.-ft. of torque arrives at 4,800 rpm, but thanks to CVTCS, Nissan's continuously variable valve-timing system, the powerband is actually very flexible, pulling well down low as well as screaming to its 6,250-rpm redline, where a red light flashes a warning.

I never said what I posted are proofs, somebody asked if anyone happened to have data from Nissan 2005 weight so they can compare to 2006 Nissan weight.
I happened to have saved the 2005 track and touring data I collected from The Nissan website and posted a reply.
I then stated how and where I got the data and that I didn't care what outcome people will conclude from it. People can conclude that the 2006 can weigh LESS then the 2005 for all I care.
If you choose to doubt Nissan's own published data then good for you, I can accept that. Whatever floats your boat.

Yes sir! Next time I go and research on what trim of car to buy, I will definitely go out and weigh those trims I'm interested in buying myself. How ridiculous of me to go directly to Nissan's website for the facts, um, sorry, for Nissan's lies. I also humbly apologize to the person that asked for the previous year's weight information from Nissan. Sorry if the lies offended.
Forgive me for replying to this type of thread, I see that this issue is very sensitive to you and I will refrain myself from responding anymore with outrageous information in this thread. Good luck with your movement. I take my leave of this thread.

Facts are verifiable by demonstration. It seems it's been demonstrated here that the published numbers are not factual.

So all the JDM turbo cars from the 90s era only had 280 hp in Japan right?
Do you not believe the dynos of the 335 showing much more then 300 hp ?
It's been demonstrated over and over again. Why is it not capable of happening here?
Not one person who has weighed their 06 has shown the gains on paper.

I'd also add the LS1 and LS2s of the 90's were highly underrated as well. GM thought (and they were probably right) that if they actually listed the real hp numbers it would detract certain people from buying it because the insurance would be too high. I wish the Z had that problem.
Why do people think that if it's written on paper it must be written in stone?
