Default Climate Control

I love my Z, but after 6 months, 15K miles, and temperatures from -5 to 103 degrees (cross country trip) I have determinted that the Climate Control system sucks.

I'm my 1990 Z I would set a temperature and the car would pretty much stay at that temperature. With this car I set it a say 75 degrees and depending on outside weather conditions the inside temperature varies a lot.

Today I drove to the beach and back in about 63 degree weather. I had to keep the inside set to around 79 degrees. Yesterday with the temp set at about 76 someone complaied of cold air blowing on them.

I keep the climate contol in full auto mode and only adjust the temperature setting. It seems like I always have to change it to depending on outside temperature and too hot ot too cold air is frequently blowing on people. Basically the temperature numbers on the dial (ie 75) mean nothing to me and don't seem to match the actual temperature.

I know climate control can work because I've been in other cars where the climate control was set and forget. Not my Z.

wierd, mines been at about 73 since I bought it, I only changed it once to the very coldest cause I was hot, and wanted alot of cold air RIGHT now, I had just walked like a mile in 80degrees, so I was sweating, otherwise it would have been fine.

Yeah, I love the Z's simplicity when it comes to AC/heat controls. I have it on auto direction, auto speed, and 73 degrees. The only time I have touched it was adjusting the temp a few degrees cooler or warmer depending on the day, or to put defrost on. The car's climate controls are wonderful from my experience *shrug*

I think it has a lot to do with where you live. Where I live it's not uncommon to see a 30 degree change in temp. from day to day. When it was cold out I kept it at 70 but now that it gotten warmer I keep it about 73-75. We'll see what happens when it starts to get hot out.
