I talked to my Z buddy today
The Nisssan boat will first stop in Guam. From there it will sail on too Honolulu to drop off some 350z's, one of which is his, and then it will continue on too Oakland to drop of yours. Unless you live on the East Coast in which case an entirely different boat will deliver yours. So, the first 15 Z's delivered too the good ol' USA will be for 15 lucky islanders.
Well I don't live on the Hawaiian Islands but I am an Islander. Long Island that is and I sure do hope that this "Island Boy" is one of the first to get his car too!!!!!!
I'm an Islander too. Long Island that is!!

I don't know about that one but if it does it will have to go through the Panama Canal, and you know what that means!
But I think those ones will probably be dropped off in Oakland and then trucked.

I can't believe that they have 15 allocated to Hawaii. They didn't even have 15 300's there total while I lived there, let alone people who want a preorder. I could see it if it was a new Civic or the new Integra.
Well they really do. Maybe cause there is a large Japanese contingency over there and maybe cause the dealer, Honolulu Nissan, is Japanese. But I don't know if he is or not. My friend told me a special leather jacket is going with those 15 and also a commemorative plaque.
I really wasn't calling your bluff on it.
Yes, they have a huge Japanese interest there but that interest is firmly entrenched in Hondas. I was an outcast there with my Nissan (not that I minded).
I also assume that the dealer you keep calling Honolulu Nissan is actually New City Nissan, the closest dealer to Honolulu.

What makes you think that the west coast will "get their cars first"?

He has been in the Z business ever since we rode together in high school. My 240Z was the first one he ever laid hands on way back then. He loved the 240 because it is so danged easy to work on and the L-24 was bullet proof. A good mechanic, he had my baby tuned all the time and we would go out into the twisties in the nearby Almaden hills and tear it up, and I mean crazy.
But through the years he has developed a large Z clientel, 240Z through 300zx, and Nissan contacts. He moved to Oahu with his Japanese/American wife 10 months ago and commutes back here every three weeks to take care of issues and race his '70 240Z ("DEMO Z") at Laguna Seca on open track weekends. He is also an excellent driver and scares the **** out of me. He restored his 240Z down to every nut, bolt and washer and it's very trick all around with tripple Webbers and it put's out 300 HP, I think at the wheels. He has ordered a Daytona Blue Track Model. He knows a few Nissan bigs.
Anything Else?
Why will the West Coast get theirs first? Cause it's closer to Tokyo!! I think, but I know nothing of ocean shipping routes. Maybe the East Coast route is over the top. I just assume it's likely that the West Coast boat will beat the East Coast boat. When Greg get's his in Hawaii I'll send an alert.
Not sure if this effects all of the Bay Area but I talked with the dealer I ordered my Z through. "Gilroy, CA". They reciently recieved an update on my order and the others they had. They told they wouldn't recieve their first orders till September .
The were told the are being produced this month and it's about 6 weeks for shippment. The also gave me a Nissan order number to track my order. Though you all would like check with your dealer to find out what they were told by Nissan.
Peace,
Space Ace
