Default question about shifting

Hi, I bought 03 Performance about 6 weeks ago, and been trolling this forum for information.

I just came back from the dealer today cause there was some grinding when I shift into the 3rd gear. Not always though, but mostly when I shift directly from 2nd or 4th gear. So now I pause in the neutral position for a second before pushing it into 3rd. However, the dealer said that they couldn't reproduce it and that I was shifting too fast. I think this is the first time that I heard 'shifting too fast' and i was wondering if i was.

The way I shift is, as I let go the gas I quickly push the clutch all the way down, shift the gears, then gradually but quickly release the clutch.

Also on the similar subject, on the A/T vs M/T thread, I saw quite of few people saying that some people don't know how to shift properly. From my understanding, shifting is quite simple stuff. Clutch in, shift, clutch out. So I am little bit confused about what does it mean that people don't know how to shift properly. So what is 'shifting correctly'?

I had eclipse gt w/5mt for a year and I have always used the same way to shift so I am wondering if I have always shifted "wrongly".

Thanks for reading ^^
