Is it true the two fastest z's on the forum are automatic
I think automatic owners that post up threads like this are just pissed off that they didnt get a 6speed, and now will do anything to make themselves feel just a little better by trying to bringing down the 6speed-drivers..

When you say the Fastest Zs on here....you are probably referring to the guys with TH350s and TH400 trannys....sorry, but that's far from a stock Z tranny. Last time I checked, the Z doesn't have a tranny brake and probably won't hold 600+hp.

Because dumbass noobs who drive automatics make dumbass threads like these.

Are you driving your car? or is the car driving you.
In a 6 speed, it takes skill, and finesse to drive the Z the way it was meant to be driven. Plain and simple. Consider that all forms of racing do NOT use automatic. Why is that. On the track, i want to have as much control over my engine as possible. I dont want to have to worry about my automatic putting me into the wrong gear that robs me of time.
In an automatic the car drives you. i can train a monkey to push down on a pedal and keep the car within the lines. It doesnt take any driver skill whatsoever. In a manual its not just the skill or turning quickly and sharply and accelerating, decellerating and braking. Thow a clutch and shifter into the mix.
Now i wont bull****. in the old days, the automatics werent nearly as fast as the six speeds because the technology just wasnt there. I have a 78 Corvette thats been fully restored, unfortunately its automatic, and the damn thing just sucks at shifting. I've rebuilt her tranny three times, it doesnt make a difference. The technology is just not there. But in these new japanese transmissions, the technology has gotten so good, that they are incredibly fast at shifting. Only problem is, they lack the control of a six speed.
If i'm at the track, i need to able to control my shift points, control my decceleration, control my braking. In an automatic, you can't do it. The automatics are not optimized for racing, they are optimized for gas mileage.
We six speeds talk so much **** because we are a different breed than all the automatics out there. Its just that. If you have the preference to drive the car in the city, and maybe take it to the track occasionally, then buy an automatic by all means. you will appreciate it in the long run with better gas mileage, and at the end of the day you will still be happy.
But if you are serious about racing, and you wanna really DRIVE your z to its full ability, then by all means, get the 6 speed.

ok so now just because im young i can't make a thread response with my opinion? i mean i dont care if you guys laugh at what i say, but last i checked the purpose of this site isnt just catering to seasoned vets with 350 Z's. its a simple fact that i think you are having a hard time dealing with. Kids can buy Z's. and i said kids. not kids parents. So don't go assuming that mommy and daddy bought my car because i pay every penny of it, including my insurance and gas and repairs and mods. I'm so glad that you guys have more experience than us, but rather than trying to shun us and put us down, you could either just laugh, ignore it, or tell me what im doing wrong that offends you so much.
just because i made a mistake in a previous post now all of a sudden i cant even reply on something totally unrelated. screw this site man, i'd rather just enjoy driving my Z then have to deal with all your crap. this is the only forum site i know that puts other drivers down for there age. but whatever, if thats what it takes then im leaving. so you win.

So that would be a no.

Chill out DJGreddy... You can reply all you want but stop saying you have rebuilt tranny's on classic cars... Give me a break... You cant even tell what is done to your exhaust but yet you know how to rebuild a tranny??? Just keep it real and stop lying so much... Just give your opinion like " I think auto Z's are for queers " and move along to the next thread...

No one is offended...everyone is getting a laugh out of you. We're simply trying to push you in the right direction with some tough love. Its hard not to cap on someone that may write well, but lacks the technical knowledge to follow through with acurate statements. Listen to what everyone is telling you. We practice what we preach...I read the forums for a good 3 months before posting b/c I was not as familiar with the Z as most other guys on here. I have built plenty of cars, but you must learn every contour, every curve of your car...inside and out. Once you do that, you'll understand what's good for you car and why. What works and what doesn't....and when to post and when not to post. Post all you want, but if you're smart...you'll read first....post later.
