Looks aside? STI hands down. However, to each his own, I've owned both. The STI is a way funner car to drive, a lot more practical and driveable all year long. The cons: ~$20 higher insurance premium, well that's it (looks aside). The biggest differance I found was looks and fun. STI more fun, Z more pretty. If you wanna look pretty get the Z. If you wanna have more bite than bark, get the STI. You won't regret it.

Also, it's funny to hear all these comments like, "better build", "better quality", etc. Ever heard of tire feathering, window grease streaks, axle clicking? LOL fanboys.

I call it how I see it. I especially like the "heritage" or "history" plug. Who really gives two $hits about that when you own maybe 2 cars. A collector of fine automobiles would throw that out there maybe, but most of us on this board are sticking bags of groceries in the back of our Z's....don't lie.

Nissan makes good quality cars while subaru makes junk there the ford of imports hahahahah
'

STI is great at what it does best go fast and launch at 6000rpms to do it lol i like launching it at 2000rpm and still running a nice time unstead of deadly 5000rpm and up drops granted the skyline awd but hey it dont break like those crappy subarus

Man are u serious???
What claims do you have on subies crapping out at 100k???

Please don't give us Z guys a bad name by spreading your Subaru claims.
No one on this thread gives two flying shiets about your friend's Altima or Pathfinder.

My Z=36K miles, my STi=32K miles. As of right now the STi has had ZERO problems. My Z on the other hand: axle clicking, tire feathering, cabin squeeks galore, 4th set of front tires and second dash cubby.

See my above comment.

^This is where I realized this is my last repsonse to your posts. You just confirmed that you have no idea what you're talking about. The STi stock tranny is nearly bulletproof. There are several 600AWHP Subarus using the same tranny it came with from the factory. One of which is getting ready to go past it's 25K mile mark at that power.

I'm through with you, you're blinded by loyalty.

is it really bullet proof i think then the wrx's made me think that cause if u read up on wrx the trannies break like nothin but if you really think subaru makes better cars ur crazy and those problems are all minor dash board cubby lol when ur stis engine explodes hahah just go look at about every reveiw on quality and reliability sti has low scores compared to the z. If i wanted awd i would buy a vw r32 now thats a well built car compared to that hunk of junk 16lbs to make a measley 300hp. its just overall the company suks in everyway granted they make one good car sti granted mistu makes 2 good cars evo and vr4 both still suk on reliability how many good cars nissan has hmmmm and how were the quality on them over all lets see hmm 300zx, 240sx, maxima ,altima ser , sentra ser check the relibility rating on those cars theyll all come out on top check the wut people who own scoobys say about it

If the STI comes in a 2 door hatch, I'd take the STI over the Z. I had an 02 WRX and now the Z. I think the WRX was easier to drive and is more forgiving. Oh and the build quility is pretty much on par with a Nissan. I've never had any issues with my Suby, though I did sell it when it only had 42K miles. If I can only have 1 car and 1 car only, then I'd opt for the STi since it fast and practical. A Z to me is a luxury toy.

You must of missed the 4 sets of tires, the axle clicking, window grease streaks and the cabin squeeks.

Try not to miss this:

great wut ever thats my opinion i think there crap and thats the bottom line lol i had a choice i could have bought it if you think its a better car ur crazy im not a fan of cars that run 16lbs out the factory to make 300hp just doesnt seem that kool to me not only it looks like a freakin big civic acutally i would rather have a b18cr turbo in a integra anyday over a subi atleast the honda are good quality and it wont need 16lbs to beat a sti

sry guys im just a subaru hater. i used to think they were ok until my freinds wrx with only 20000 miles had the engine rebuilt twice transmission replaced once clutch and the motor torn down to discover the problem was a bad fuel injector thats insane man engine lights come on it all the time one time he was driving the car was violently shaking one time it wouldnt go over 30 i can sit here and tell u bad **** about them all day

If i had a subaru sti with the way i drive it would be broken already transmission clutch who noes it wouldnt take my beating however my 03 z took it for 33000 miles and keeps un running strong

If you want the best performance from point A to point B, there isn't much that can live with an STI.

But the problem with those rally specials is the same as with superbikes. There just isn't much fun to be had driving them when you're not attacking corners going "GRRRGGNNNGGHHG".

That's why a lot of people get tired of them after a while. Obviously, on a test drive you will drive it hard and it will blow you away, you have to own one for a while to really understand what I am trying to tell you.

Now the Z, that's a nice car to cruise in, you can put in 4th, listen to that sweet six cylinder music, and just chill. That's something you won't ever ever do with an STI.

I am not knocking the Subaru or any similar vehicle by the way. I used to own one of the two cars that started the rally special trends, an Escort Cosworth. I had it for 2 years and I had a lot of fun with it. But the time came when I just got sick of it. There's more to life than going around corners at absurd speeds.

Just my very humble 2 cents.
