I have a Grand Cherokee. It has a 4WD system, not an AWD. The mode in which it can be left engaged on dry pavement is full time 4WD. It also has part time 4WD and low range which are obviously not meant for the pavement.
The different 4WD/AWD systems coming out in newer models kind of blurs the line between AWD and 4WD.
There are AWD systems that have locking differentials that are typically only found on a true 4WD system. And the flip side is what I mentioned above, a
4WD system that has a mode to run on dry pavement.

I already said the STI is better from a dig, but it's not because of power, it's only that is 4wd.
And from a roll??? Please. I have kicked the crap out of several STI's at speed with no trouble whatsoever.

I mis-spoke when I said the STI was 4WD, my bad.
You, however, are typing lengthy definitions that are way off base.
As I explained, many 4WD systems have a mode that can be used on dry pavement without causing any damage at all to the vehicle.

You can drive as fast as your vehicle will let you in full time/all time 4WD mode.

Omg this thread is so funny. Look in my opinion, they are both ugly slow ricer cars that cost way too much. Why not just buy a LS1 camaro or T.A? They go from $10,000-$15,000 and not only sound better but look better. Also a stock LS1 Fbody is a high 12 second car, which means it whipes the floor with the 14 second Nissan Z, and can take the STi. LS1 > Ford > Sti > Z IMO
