Did you not get an Owner's Manual/Maintenance Guide when you bought your car?

You automatically get a new transmission. I read it someplace.

Do a search on this site and download a free manual.

dude you got a 350z do you really want to cut corners on anything? have the damn nissan dealership look at your car and see if there is anything abnormal about the car and maybe goodwill a warranty for having it fixed! don't be a cheap *** when it comes to your investment!

Anytime I ever bought a used car that did not include an Owner's Manual, I immediately went to the dealership and ordered one.

just ask for a Nissan 60K mile major service interval which includes replacement of all oil and fluid in all major components including brakes. Replace spark plugs. Shop around first, dealer wants 600$.

I don't think I'll do the 60k with my Z. Its expensive as hell and they do a lot of things that are probably unnecessary. I did it for my 97 Sentra less than a year ago....it cost me $800!

I'm just going to have the dealer do the regular basic services and follow the 3,750 mile interval service manual on my own, replacing things like spark plugs and whatnot when they need to be.

Labor costs are ridiculous...

Personally, I never go to the dealership, I have had a long history of them screwing something else up while my car(s) are in the shop. I am currently having to deal with shoddy warranty work on a Mazda that my wife drives. In fact, I have to call them back this morning, for the 4th time to deal with **** they broke while "fixing" something else.

Change your own plugs, oil, fluids yourself. No one cares for your car like you do. You will be dollars ahead in the long run. Implied warranties on a vehicle can't be revoked because of you not going to them for your warranty work. They will try but it won't hold up, you just have to push them.

I thought reading the owners manual was a smart idea.
But hey......if you're too lazy to read or you can't read, let me help you out.

60K tune up:
Tranny Swap
Change the Distributor Cap
Check the Timing
Re-gap the Points
Recalibrate Carburetor
Rotate Tires Front to Back
Flush and Replace Blinker Fluid
Replace Steering Wheel

Hope this helps!

Yeah, Mazda warranty service sucks big time. I sold my Mazda 3 with only 3k miles on it cuz of that. Never never believe those excellent Mazda reviews on CR.

I have an update on my Mazda, just got called from Mazda Tech, they are replacing an engine with 40K miles for free, no questions asked. Original problem was a belt pulley broke, thus causing engine damage. I didn't have to fight with them or threaten them or nothing - they volunteered a brand new engine. Wow, if only Nissan could learn to back up there product like that.
