Default get a zero dollar deductable for vandalism(comprehensive) for less than $10 a month

I went to nationwide yesterday and asked about lowering my deductable for vandalism (comprehensive) and to my surprise it was $58 bucks more every six months. The agent said everybody that works there takes advantage of this. She also said they dont advertise this to much.

Seems like a deal to me. And I dont worry as much about the car now.

Just trying to bring this option up to fellow Z owners.

one would assume this means, in my situation, if someone hits the rear end corner of your car and hit & runs... leaves no note or anything (just a huge ****ing impaled dent in the back right bumper portion underneath the gascap)

Interesting thought. I went online to get a quote change with GEICO and found that changing comprehensive from $500.00 deductible to $50.00 costs $49.30 for the 6 month poicy. That's $8.21 a month.
Something to think about.
Changing deductible on collision is another story.

What exactly does the policy define as vandalism?

No, that's an accident (hit and run). Vandalism is where somebody keys your car, punctures your tire, takes a baseball bat to the windows, etc.

According to GEICO,
"Comprehensive coverage pays for loss or damage to your vehicle caused by fire, theft, vandalism, hail, windstorm, riot, falling objects, flood, and other events as stated in your policy contract. Comprehensive is an optional coverage. In deciding whether you wish to carry comprehensive, you may want to consider the present value of your vehicle and the cost of the coverage."

Def of vandalism probably varies w/ each co.

I would like to believe you. Scan and post your policy showing a separate charge for vandalism. Thanks.

I have been in insurance for years now. Like 7 years. I have never heard of this vandilism coverage you speak of. I have never seen it listed on the insurance i sell and the company i work for is bigger than most other companies in the US. we are like 3rd or so i think. You are probably talking about comprehensive coverage.

I'm thinking Nucleus is trying to say is that like all ins. policies, vandalism is part of comprehensive. He should have initially stated a reduced charge for comp, not vandalism.

Really should not be such a confused issue.....

LOL. Neither do I.

This is just a simple change in the deductible for Comprehensive. It may be a good idea for some members but hardly a trade secret.

Just out of curiosity, (I've never claimed on comprehensive before) does your premium go up once you file a claim? (for maybe like a shopping cart running into the door, etc)
