your dealer is right about not seeing any 350Zs on lots in october. everything in the august-october delivery period is by preorder only. i don't know when they will start appearing on lots for normal purchases, but it probably won't be for quite a while after october.

i'm not sure about specific production numbers.

My dealer sid 60,000 350z's are going to be produced world wide...for comparision.....he also said that Nissan is going to make 400,000 Sentras this year world wide. Take it with a grain of salt... I did.

jetmech,

Your dealer is right. You probably won't be able to actually buy one from the lot until all the pre-orders have been fulfilled.

According to the NNA reps, 30,000 vehicles per year is the max they will produce.

I haven't seen anything on Nissan's sites about lease options related to the pre-order program. But the dealers may be able to offer that at the time of delivery.

Smile Z's in Seattle

I too heard about 30,000 being produced this year (2003), however I don't think dealers here in Seattle know too much about their product. I work here in Seattle, live in Las Vegas, I ended up purchasing (pre-order) mine in LV because the dealer up here told me MSRP + 5K and I wouldn't get a better deal no where. He lost

What dealership did you buy at in Vegas? What kind of "doc fee" did they stick you with? The reason I ask is that all three originally told me I could buy at MSRP, but when the time came, they all said it would be at least $5000 over. I ended up buying out of state at MSRP with no added fees whatsoever. Two of the three Vegas dealers later called me back and tried to work a deal with "protection packages" etc. I told them.....well.....you can imagine what I told them.

Default LV Buy

ZZTop, I purchased mine from Desert Nissan on W. Sahara, paid $800. over MSRP which includes docs, fees and that "desert protection package" you mention, but I had also received a quote in LV of 10K over MSRP also and it was at time I decided I wasn't going top buy. Then up and comes a e-mail from this guy named Richard Colquitt and offers me the deal I eventually took. Destination fee is $540. With my extras, floor mats, trunk carpet and splash guards total is 35.581K

Colquit is the guy who lied to me the most. Told me I was at the top of the list and MSRP was for sure. Yeah, right....then $5000 over MSRP was the best he could do. Anyway, I'm glad you got your car for not too much over sticker.
