I agree with you though. Unless he was noticably drunk (and blowing a .08 may not be noticable for a LOT of people), then there is absolutely nothing you could have done, not knowing. As for slamming on the brakes, for 10 mph? That wasn't worth it. If you were going 5 over they aren't going to bust you, all you have to do is breath on the brakes for that to happen. I am guessing he had to be withing 5 feet of your damn bumper, to hit you that hard, or you slowed down to way less than 65 mph (which is possible. I see people do that all the time, next thing they know they are doing 55 in a 65 becuase they saw a cop).
That ticket is BS. Signal for hard braking? Yeah, I put on the emergency blinkers, but not for that situation.

Yea it sucks. 3 of them are for a right turn on red in NJ. And 4 are for an 83 in a 75 in alabama! 8mph over =4pts? I dont get it! It wasnt worth it to slow down now. But if i hadnt gotten hit and slowed to 67-70mph..It would of been. Bc state cops here see a red sports car. and its sirens.
Heres a story about a ticket i got a little bit ago that im going to court for...I get pulled over. I ask the cop why i got pulled over. he said u didnt signal back there when you were toying with that car (my gf's brother). I said officer that car is a hyndui tiburon. I have about 320HP, him about 150. Why would I be "toying" with him.
After he realized he was wrong, the next thing on his agenda was, "well your exhaust is very loud". I told him that it wasnt my exhaust it was the car that he didnt pull over. He than said, "turn your car on so I can hear it". I turned it on. It sounded stock. I have nismo exhaust with tp. Any of you that have it know it sounds stock until about 3K. This dick gave me a ticket for switching lanes without signal and wanted me to go get my car checked out for a loud exhaust at the DMV. The cop "you gotta slow down in this thing". I than told him nicely, "officer I dont want to disrespect you, but I could of made an unsafe lane change in my moms caddy, so were your trying to get at has nothing to do with speeding". He said your right than gave me my tickets!

I'm pretty sure you had to brake to avoid a cat or something that ran out into the road. How can a cop contest that? Were there any other cars around that you could say were driving a little eractic and you were trying to avoid them and their unpredictable behavior. I would try some type of BS like that, no way can that hold up in court.
I'm sorry to hear about the misfortune, but I think someone is trying to send you a message that may in fact save your life one day. Learn it now, it will only get more costly if you don't.

It seems like most of these "I totaled my Z" threads are coming from youngsters that lack experience, brains and the right attitude about driving a rear-end drive , high torque sports car. Maybe there should be a "no one can drive a Z until at least 25 years of age", just like getting a rental car.

Furthermore, the G35 isn't expensive. The 300zx tt was more 13 years ago

I'm not saying that is the case at this point, but it is definately the case in several other threads I've read.

Hey why dont you read my whole thread before you make a ******** comment like you did. I didnt know he had been drinking. And Your thread about Z's getting totaled in the winter was having to do with wheather. So where are you trying to get at? Your the people who poison this forum.
And I wasnt racing, speeding at a great speed. i was going 12mph over the speed limit at most. When i slowed up he didnt and hit me. thats all.
