Default 350z owner, i have a question

well guys the new z is comin up pretty soon.....but as of for now im planin on gettin a z sooner or later......the question is what z year is the best that u might think? i mean i was lookin for a white 350z (track edt.) 04....but i've heard that 05 and 06 has a high rev engine meanin more power.....which year is worth buyin the z? 03- 04 same or 05- 06 high rev engine? if i get the 05-06(track) model, i lose the brembo breks and gain high rev engine. im just wondering wats best for my money

05 sounds like the one to go with. Probably will save about $10k or more w/ the 05 vs going with the 07.

The 03-04.5 has more torque than any other year: 274 ft-lbs. The difference in engine power and acceleration is really negligible until you get to '07. '03-04.5 had some bugs. The interior changed in 05 (center console, stereo, AC *****). My preference? If not for the 07, I would get another 2004.5 over the 03, 05 or 06: I just like the interior best.

a. Set a budget. What is the maximum that you are willing to spend?
b. Go shopping.

i have to agree that the 04 is the better bet. while the engine revs higher and has a few more horses, the difference is as stated before, negligible.

you wouldnt be able to tell the difference, and any basic mod you do (including a cold air) would put you in the same league as the rev-up motor in terms of horsepower. we are talking about a gain in maybe .01 seconds on a quarter mile and i am willing to bet that your car will not remain stock anyways so the engine thats in there wont matter.

i had the same choice when i started looking for Z's. i picked an 04 because it was available and already had some mods done to it. but what really drove it home (no pun intended) was those gorgeous orange calipers and drilled rotors. every person i talk to says to me man those brakes are sweet.

if it was me in your shoes i would pick the 04. you will appreciate those brakes the first time someone ever tries to come into your lane at high speed, or if you ever track your car.
