On behalf of Nissan Sport, we are all very sorry to hear of this accident! I worked on the first edit of what would become the Sunset Seduction piece. This feature article in the Winter '07 still stands as a testament to the creativity, perserveance and thought you (and everyone who worked on your Z) put into Sunset Seduction. The real story remains as much about you and your wife and the dedication you both put into the creation of this car.

It may be a tired cliche', but cars- even one as unique as this one- can be replaced. But if you were hurt or killed in the accident, that would have been a tragedy or irreplaceable proportions!

Wow, you had a very beautiful car. Maybe the next Z will turn out even better. Might as well stay positive about it.

Threads like these make my stomach churn. All of that time and effort (not to mention $$$) you put into that masterpiece -- gone in an instant. I wish you the best of luck in your claims and hope you will build an even better beast next time!

That just blows to see it go that fast. At least you'll still be able to remember it from the magazine feature.

Seeing as how well you put this one together, I can't wait to see the next.

I had my car insured for more than it is worth. I went to my insurance company over a year and half ago and gave them a modification list with prices to document the amount I had invested in the car. Since it is a show car and has one many awards and had several features on it, I did not have any problems getting increased coverage. Of course I had to pay for it.

Anyone who puts the amount of money I do in a car should talk to their insurance company about increasing their coverage. It took us 6 hours last night however we were about to provide about 90% of the receipts for the car.

I will know Monday or Tuesday how much they are going to give me. I know for sure that they are going to total the car, now it is just about how much.

Thanks David.

Thankfully, I was not injured as much as in the first accident. I only had a few bruises, couple of scratches, and a lot of aching muscles. I have now totaled two of these and I will say that Nissan has made this car very safe. I was wearing my seatbelt in both accidents. Both were extremely hard front collisions. The first also got t-boned in the passenger side after the front impact leading to a concussion.

It is hard to let go of the car only because it is my tie to all the friends I have made in the last four years and I was very proud of the car that we built. I guess I can start planning a new car. It is a little hard since we were only about a month away from finishing our first run through all sections of the car. Now I have to start with a blank canvas. Feels like I robbed of an opportunity to finish something really great, before having to starting anew.

I just wish to hell, people would quit pulling out in front of me. That is one of the reasons; I was not driving the car as much in the last year. Driving a highly modified car that you built is so much fun, yet contains quite a bit of risk.

Oh, that really makes me sad to see such a gorgeous LMS Z wrecked. Good to hear you're okay though.

If it were me I'd have lots of big photos to remind me of the project. Just stunning.

Regrets .... Looking forward to what your going to do next. You already made a name for yourself. Now build another. ;-)

I see you saying "extra insurance"...may I ask what that covers? Any extra value beyond the BB of the car, since you have so much money in to it?

And hopefully most of those mods can go with you into the '07. I don't see why not, engine isn't THAT different, and I don't know what mods you have anyway. Maybe I will pickup NS and see for myself.
