Default Getting rid of the car I love.

How do you let go of the thing you love the most? I have a lot of pressure to sell my car and I know I should but I don't want to. Money is not a factor in me having to sell my car. I lost my license and do not get it back until Nov 28 of 07. I havent driven my car since I lost my license and it came at a good time since I store my car during the winter. But I get my license reinstated in the winter so it means I wont be able to drive my car till the summer of 08. I also have to go to basic trainging for the Air Force in two months. Even though I know I should sell it the only reason I don't want to sell it is because of how much love I have for the car. So I need some input, should I sell my car and buy another 350Z after I get my license back or just keep it the whole time?

Sounds like a good time to learn the bus routes and build a custom Z in the meantime.

Man, don't drive it b/c one cop will ruin your day (jailtime). I am sure its tough but be patient. Plus, if you get pulled over again, who knows when you will be able to drive (legally).
To answer your original question, keep it if you can, unless you plan on buying a '07 when the time comes. Whatever you do don't leave the family.

Sell it! If you don't it will just sit there and depreciate. Don't be stupid and try to drive it, you'd be risking jail time. Just look forward to when you get your license back and BUY A NEW Z then. An 08 model

depends... if the car is paid off then keep it obviously... if its not...

sell it. pay off what you owe, save the rest and with the money that you would have to put towards payments you save that as well...

then you get your license back, you buy a newer Z, and with the extra money you saved you will be able to mod it almost instantly...

If you get busted by the police your recruiter will **** his pants!!!! (trust me, I am an AF recruiter in NM) You risk losing your job in the AF and joining all together if you get busted. You are better off storing your car and saving up your money while in basic and tech school and then spending it on your car when you come back home. I know I sound like an old man but that would be the best thing to do. LOL

PS. Welcome to the team. What is your job going to be?

If you planned on keeping the car forever then don't sell it and just mod it.

Otherwise I agree with sell it. It will just depreciate. I am almost tempted to say sell it anyway. Most people when they go into training like that have good cash when they get out because they don't really have much opprotunity to spend it. So take the money from your car and whatever you make afterwards and buy something bad ***.

Looks like growing up time to me. You do not have a license because you are a danger behind the wheel. Either to yourself or others or both. I see little point in owning a vehicle that you cannot drive. But of course that is up to you.

Concerning the USAF and basic training. That may instill some self-discipline. It may not. I admire your decision, but no congratulations until you pin on the first stripe.
