should i install front license plate?
hey all. i just got in my plates and i was wondering if everyone here does not have there front plates drilled in/installed? i was talking to a buddy of mine thats a cop and he "advised" that i'm supposed to have it but, didnt really need to worry about the front license, but i should carry it in my car anyway. anyone know the law? probably different from state to state. i live in oregon. i haven't been pulled over yet. (knock on wood) anyone had some exp?

I got a ticket while it was parked on the street at a meter... ticket was like $115 or something...
I went and fought it and just told them that it got ripped off in a car wash the previous day...
they bought it - dropped ticket...
I highly doubt I can use that excuse again.
If its a law in your state and they get you for it - its a decent sized fine... I've not had a front plate on any of my vehicles for 6 years I'd say - and none of my 2 tickets for it have been from traffic stops...

WTF is everyone giving him bad advice for on the drilling part? There is an after market kit that is available for the front end. Plate goes over your grille and requires NO drilling of your front end! Do a search!
Peace!

I live in VA, and its required to have a plate by law. However, If you get a ticket, all you have to do is take a picture with ur front plate on and its dismissed in court. Plus, I think the car looks much better without it, so i just put it on my dashboard behind the windshield. Bottom line is what you like? If you dont want it on there, then screw it, dont put it on!

I live in MO an we are suspose to have a front plate but I just keep it under my drivers seat if I ever get pulled over. I have lived here 3 years with no front plate on the Z and have never got pulled over. It is not enforced unless you get pulled over for something else and then they probally won't do anything as long as it is in the car. The make some aftermarket things you can install so you do not have to drill. I think they are called Z brackets. Search on this site someone is always promoting them.

thanks guys for replying! im deafly not gonna drill anything into my car =) ohh, i bought zip ties to attach the license ( if i decide to) to the front of my grill. i figure the plastic attachments are better then poking holes into the mean looking front bumper!
