Question Order 2007 350z or...

Is it better to order a 350z or wait until they are on the lots?

What would be required to order one? Drop by the dealer? Do I negotiate a price before ordering one...or? How does the process work?

I have no idea. but today my buddy went to the BMW dealer and they told him that he can or the 335i with an X amount for the down. when the car gets there , he test drives it and doesnt like it, they will refund his down with no penalties.

just go to dealer to find out, but it's usually no need to order. it took almost 3 months of delivery for my 335ci though.

Early arrivals with sell at or close to MSRP. The dealer wants at least one on the lot to attract attention. He will not give it up at a bargain price.

Ordering a 350Z is just like buying one off the floor.

I ordered an 06 at my local dealership with nothing down. however they took 4 months to get it to the dealership when they told me it would be 3-4 weeks. Needless to say, i just bought a new 06 at another dealership that happened to have the one i was looking for.

My original car would've been ordered from a dealer in NY, but for the same reason as above, I ended up buying one from a dealer in Miami. They said I think it was 2-3 months TOPS, but it ended up coming in almost five months after I ordered it.

Needless to say, I orderd a Rev-Up before they were on the dealerships lots, but the Rev-Ups were a big change like the 2007's with a new motor. Just go in, take a test drive of a Z on the lot (doesn't have to be a new one, I test drove a Touring) and sit down with a salesman and talk numbers. I offered $500 over invoice and they accepted and I signed the contract then and there. They required only a $500 deposit.

I will say this though... definitely try going through the Internet manager first with a couple of different dealerships. They tend to be better bargainers. I was able to get $500 under invoice for the Z I bought from Miami. It did have its from bumper replaced and resprayed after some lot damage, but it looked OEM to me and got me a nice discount!

I would wait till they are on the lot, more likely to squeeze a better deal.

I'm personally waiting for the 2007s to come out. I think I will special order this time. I really want San Marino Blue. I'm not in a hurry, so it may not be until next year's end of year clearance timeframe or may even be an 08 model. My other issue is that I want to see the new G Coupe, maybe it will sway me over this time. That's the other reason why I want to wait. I'm kind of personally attached to my 03 having done a few things to it.

No deposit means that legally that car can be sold to somebody else.

Deposit holds the car for you and is refundable.

Nice price though on a new one. I got $750 over invoice on the first arrival and felt good about that.
