Default clutch issues at 998 miles... wtf?

Wow well i just hit 998 miles and while driving calmly home, no hard shifting, or taking it past 4k RPM, I started toi smell the burnt clutch. In suprise I looked around cuz I knew it couldnt be me, there is no way. To my suprise nothing... the smell actually got stronger and stronger every time I would accelerate and keep shifting... WTF!!!!!!!!! After a long and stinky drive home I let it idle for a while and while its idling, the car makes a slight rattling noise... but when i step down on the clutch, the noise goes away... let go and the noise coms back... its an odd clicking if you will and I never noticed it before.

I have an 06 base, nismo exhaust and cai, and im @ 998 HELP PLEASE!

on a side note, I drive in bumper to bumper (LITERALLY) traffic everyday to and from work for HOURS! I stay in 1st gear for hours just on and off 1st and the clutch...

Oh and another thing sometimes while slowing down, to brake and when i clutch down to pop it into neutral, I feel the tranny shake/thump harshly.

Not saying this is the case, but if you can't drive a stick, you can burn up a clutch in a heartbeat.

Normal. I have that noise on mine too and also on a half dozen Zs I've been in. I believe it's your bearing noise.

im pretty sure the kid knows how to drive stick...besides he'd be pretty stupid if he didn't and he was caught in bumper to bumper traffic. since the car is still new and under warranty, take it back to the dealer and have them take a look at it. replicate the problem if you can so that they know your serious. good luck.

Dont worry yourself with speculation. Take it to a dealership and get it checked out, at the least it will show that you reported a potential problem.

Good luck

more than positive lol. If my fart smelled like that, id kill myself. So now I turned on the car and its not making that noise anymore just a slight one, but i think thats normal, its the bearings as stated above.

um, no take it to the dealer. It should not smell, ever! You have defended yourself that you can drive a stick so it can't be that. And the noise you described is the throwout bearing and almost everyone here has that noise - yes that noise is considered normal and you will find proof of that if you search for it. Something could have come out of adjustment and your clutch could have been dragging even if you had the pedal pushed to the floor. That or you are tired going home from work and riding the clutch Did I mention you should take it to the dealer, seriously. Hope they find something for you
BTW that last part you mentioned - is that you describing that with the pedal all the way down it is a little difficult to get the stick out of gear?? Sign of the clutch still being partially engaged?

I ignored the noise on the clutch since I bought it on the first day.

after A LOT of research, I've found that the problem is normal, or at least I think it is. And the noise im talking about is tranny/clutch rattling noise that everyone seems to have a problem with... :P

It sounds like the same noise that many have heard from the clutch. Sounds like you did a search and found that many have the same 'noise'. Good for you.

As for a couple of posters, why do you have to be aholes?

THe part that is still not normal here is that the clutch shouldn't stink and noticeably stink more and more. Is it possible that you have a brake problem? Brake stink is a similar smell. If the stink part continues take it to the dealer. The other "problems" are normal.
