Angry 1st Ticket

I guess I shouldn't complain since I've had my 03 4 years and this is the 1st ticket. 70 in a 55. Should've listened to the radar and slowed down but I didn't see a cop anywhere. Anyone have an idea how much the fine will be in Ca ?

I think the rule of thumb is 85 dollars for the ticket and 5 dollars for every mile over the speed limit. So, around 200 I think.

200ish sounds about right. You are lucky 5 more miles and you won't be able to do DD or DJ.

its 10$ per mile over i think. Thats what a friend told me and my ticket cost 120$. i was 12 over the limit, so, i think its probably right.

I think it is very subjective to the location. I got a ticket in my old Explorer doing 88 in a 55 and the ticket wasn't $330, more like ~$250 or so.

Just a note for future reference: regional posts are better answered in the appropriate regional forum.

I thought a radar detector was to tell you there is a cop even when you dont them.

From what I understand, part of the ticket is based on your current driving record. The fine changes whether you've been a good boy or a bad boy.

It's been awhile since I got a ticket, it kinda come with aging. But I would call the number on the ticket to find out for sure.

It took you 4 years to get a ticket? You are definately doing something wrong

j/k man. Don't worry about it though. Just do traffic school and it will be like it never happened.
