Default Snow driving....

I was on my way home today and in front of me I see this.......so I drove home, grab the camera and took some pics..

Oh, the ignorant ppl who drive trucks and think they are invincible.

Maybe its just my monitor but do you guys see a truck in the background stuck in a ditch?

When I lived in the Springs, I always saw 4X4's in the ditch or flipped over.

4WD -- you only get stuck quicker.

It's amazing to see how many people don't know how to drive in the snow, and especially how many 4x4s and AWDs go flying past WAAAY above a safe speed, only to end up in the ditch just a short way down the road.

My family frequently goes snowboarding, sometimes to Mammoth and Lake Tahoe. My dad, driving, tells me about how it was like in Korea long time ago. He says it snows like hell where he came from, and that every single car was FWD back then. He says people were sliding more than driving (sliding more than 50% of the time as opposed to having grip with the driving surface). One time, a guy in an Xterra in front of us braked all of a sudden, and my dad just kept going. I asked him "wth r u doing, aren't u gon slow down?" He just goes "we're ok, but that idiot box car's in trouble." Sure enough, the guy goes sliding, and finally slides up onto the side of the hill.

Unfortunately quite a few people that drive these larger vehicles loose track of the fact they are not necessarily safer in a bigger vehicle. Broad generalisation I know, but often true.

My dad is one of those people. He thought he was invincible in his Grand Cherokee, so during a blizzard a few years back, he decided to drive to Home Depot for no good reason. He skidded hard through an intersection, hopped up a curb, continued skidding through someone's iced-over lawn and stopped...........in their kitchen.

Nice! What tires are you running? I have Blizzaks on mine, but we've only had 2 days of snow since I put them on a month ago
