Default Ladies?

Hey, I have to disagree.
Last I looked, I was female.
I watch where I park. I go out of my way to park away from other cars.
Don't narrow it down to just girls.
It seems, no matter where I park, my car gets a cart in the side of the door, a small scratch, or a ding.
I take really good care of my Z....but, unfortunately no one seems to give a damn about it, and are drawn to park right next to it.
I keep my car washed and maintained also. Imagine that.....

They aren't narrowing it down to JUST girls, they're saying that statistically women seem to drive dirtier cars. I would be willing to be this is true based on spending habits and interests of women and the manner in which they differ from men.

It's a fact that a higher percentage of car enthusiasts are men than women. Trying to argue that is rediculous. Therefore, a higher percentage of men that own Z's are enthusiasts. Therefore, a higher percentage of men take meticulous care of their Z.

If anything, take a look at the sex of the average user of this site. A bit lopsided, eh? Maybe that will tell you something.

Anyway, they aren't putting down women or saying they are inferior in any way, so stop trying to pull the feminism card here because it doesn't apply. If you think that playing victim in this thread makes you look more independent, hardcore, tough, etc, you are wrong.

Saw a woman squeeze an Aston Martin DB9 into a parking space between two huge SUVs in a Best Buy parking lot at Christmas. I couldn't bear to stick around and see what the rug rats getting into those SUVs inflicted on that car. It was clean though....

How about narrowing it to non-enthusiast females?

My wife doesn't take care of her car... bought her a new 05 Xterra in Nov/05 and it's been washed maybe 4 times. I have to keep up the maintenance and repairs... my wife.. non-enthusiast female.

You can usually pick out the non-enthusiast females by their stock wheels and thick brake dust that make the wheels look gunmetal... haha...

I see this more on BMWs than anything here...

My Z is always clean. It has never been parked beside another car and it doesn't leave the garage if there is even a chance of rain. I am so particular that I won't even let my husband drive it unless I'm in the car with him. I'm sure that a lot of women feel the same way about their vehicles.

This is certainly an interesting thread, and what people's perceptions are.

A really good example here, you think she paid for that car?
HELL NO!!! Why else would females treat cars like ****? They didn't pay for it so who gives a ****! I bet if you made that women pay for that pricey vehicle it would be cleaner then their heels I bet!

Of course the one's on this thread that pay for their car keep it clean and I respect that, but most of them BMW drivers that are females just drive their husbands cash around and could care less.

I think I pretty much hit the nail on the head if you ask me!

Peace!

I'm a female car enthusiast, and I have a dirty Z. Personally, I care more about how my car performs than whether or not it's clean enough to win a car show.

I don't disagree with your comment, as I'd say in a fair number of cases it would be true, possibly also dependent as to where you are from. Rather a lot of broad generalisation going on in this thread in general. These days, yes it's 2007, hehe, there are alot of extremely successful females in their chosen careers that are extremely upwardly mobile, so have plenty of expensive toys including nice cars.

I think this is more of an argument of enthusiast vs non-enthusiast, rather man vs woman. As a previous post said, more men are enthusiasts than women. Therefor you are more likely to see women with dirty cars than men. My brother is not an enthusiast and the condition of his vehicles makes that apparent. He always has empty fast food containers, cigarette packs, you name it on the floor. He might wash his car a few times a year, and he has always been this way. In high school, he had a sweet Cutlas that he absolutely trashed. I, on the other hand, am an enthusiast. I've had some pretty crappy cars, but I always took good care of them. My Z is not car-show clean, but I don't let the trash build up, and it only gets dirty to a point. My car is a daily driver and I don't wash it if there is rain in the forecast - it'll just get dirty again. My wife who is neither an enthusiast, nor a man, keeps here car immaculately clean. I think in general, it's a matter of personality. Generally, people who appreciate cars will take better care of theirs than those who don't, but it really comes down to; are you the type of person who will keep your car clean or not?

Women wash their cars as often as they change their panties. I read it in Readers Digest.

No offense, but this has to be one of the dumbest posts I've seen since I've joined this forum (and trust me, I've seen some doozies). This post is the equivalent of someone who works out and trains all the time but doesn't take showers or change clothes saying that they care about performance not looks.

Also, I'm willing to bet that the majority of the mods you have on your car (if any) were put on by someone else's hard work, not yours. Admit it, your Z is dirty because you just don't want to clean it, again, which is perfectly fine. It's your car but don't pull that tired and contrived "performance over looks" jive when the simple truth is you just aren't motivated to keep your car clean.

WRONG. And believe me, I've seen lots of idiotic posts from you on here too, I just usually choose to ignore them.

Maybe I should have made things more clear in my post for the simple minded men on this site. By "dirty" I meant that I drive my car almost every day, and I don't obsess over detailing it when I get home at night. So, yes, the outside of my car is dirty, but you will never find any trash or mess on the inside.

Thanks for being an ******* and reminding me once again why I'd rather post on other Z sites.

The thing is though, that it seems enthusiasts tend to be men more then women most of the time. Mathematically speaking, I would say ~65% of men are "enthusiasts", whereas only ~15% of women are. If these numbers are anywhere close to the truth, then most of the time when you see a woman driving a Z, it will look like crap, whereas most of the time when you see a man driving a Z it will look nice.
