I'm gonna toss in Rammstein's "Mutter" album and let that baby spin. Nothing like some pounding metal in a sports car. Hmm... or maybe Fear Factory cover of "Cars"

Oh lord. . .

I'm so glad other people have been thinking about this. I thought it was wierd of me to be planning my first "Z CD".

Now I'm not the biggest geek in the world, but this opportunity couldn't pass my mind. Have a song to "test" the player before you take it off the lot.

But when I pull out down the street and hit the gas, I've decided the main theme to Star Wars would just be so fitting. Then a hole 80 min of crazy high way tunes, in fact you guys have given me some great material. I'm not planning on getting home that day till after sun rise.

Think of the creshendo of that theme. . . oh lord, i'm in tears.

Ciao,
Michael

I'm thinkin White Zombie's "Thunderkiss '65" shortly followed by Saliva's "Dope Ride"

Hendrix "Highway Child" was a good choice, as well as Deep Purple's "Highway Star"

By the time my car gets here anticipating production delays I will be playing "Ode to Joy". Every classic car needs to have a classic song and what better to really evaluate the Bose.

Default Songs......

There are just too many good songs to list - some of you have already listed some of the good ones.

My choices for a good Z CD burn (in no particular order):

No Leaf Clover - Metallica
Alive - POD
Today - Smashing Pumpkins
I Can't Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar
Shimmer - Fuel
We Jammin - Bob Marley
Control - Puddle of Mudd

Too many more to think of. Well, at least this gives me something to do until my Z arrives (Touring 6MT, Daytona Blue)!

Having the right music appeals to me too, but for the first while at least, I really want to hear the sound of the engine! The interesting thing about engine sound (sorry, steering a bit off topic of the thread) is that it can really change with break-in when the engine loosens up. My current car (SLK230) had a boring droning sound to the engine when it was new, and many reviewers complained about this. Now, at 60,000 miles it sounds a whole lot better. Something to keep in mind if the initial reviews aren't too enthusiastic about the sound.

But I will also have to make a good audio CD for the first trip!

Some other thoughts I had:

Arcarsenal - At The Drive In

Voyager - Daft Punk

Guess Who's Back - Jay-Z

Lowrider - War

Hell, I have a 300 mile drive back home after picking up my Z...plenty of time to listen to a variety of songs. I think, after all of this anticipation, I'll have to start off with Marvin Gaye, then progress into some good old-fashioned headbanging, speed inspiring music...

I have a brand new copy of "Beyond Good and Evil" by The Cult. Still in the plastic, waiting. First time it gets played is the first time I get in my new Z. Some KILLER road tunes.

I like your choice of The Cult, but I've always had a soft spot in my heart for The Cult's "She Sells Sanctuary" from the Love album. I have always pictured that song or Ministry's "Stigmata" (152 beats per minute) being played as I tear out of the Nissan parking lot. Oh well I've got two weeks to decide...
