I sincerely doubt they are offering rebates on Z cars. Ever heard of chevy offering rebates on a vette? Now, they may be offering rebates on trucks and sport utes becuase of the slowdown in the economy and gas going up and down lately. On Z cars --never.

actually, they are. when i was buying my Z, dobbs nissan in memphis offered me a $1k rebate on a new 2006 Z. ended up buying an 05. checked edmunds today to see the "TMV" and it was 2k less than what i paid, plus mine has pretty high mileage for an '05. oh well, what can you do? when i was looking, this was the best deal, and it seems like just a week later, there are quite a few cheaper Z's. oh well. nothing i can do about it now....maybe because the 2007's are getting out to more and more dealer lots?

This is the wrong time of year to sell the Z. Snow and ice. People are not in the mood to buy a sports car and then put it in the garage most of the time. I think you will have better luck in the spring.

Geez I paid $156400 cdn for my 2006 4s cab with extra rims and a quite a few other options so with tax that worked out to $179860 cdn. Right now dealers are offering me 125000. I am seeing them with similar mileage 5200km for around 134ish.

Boy you made out real well with your 350Z didnt you now.

Cars depreciate are you really that damn stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

1) Don't confuse a "dealer concession" with a "rebate". Since this is mid-January 2007, I would certainly expect dealers to be cutting some pretty good deals on holdover '06s.

2) Looks to me like the Edmunds TMV for a new Enthusiast is about $500 OVER invoice, or almost $1000 MORE than I paid for my '06 Enthusiast.

I paid 22,500 for my 2005 performance Z with a new clutch and new rear tires. Got a pretty good deal on it, hoping that it wont sink much below that price mark over the next few years. But i am going to put about 1500 into a body kit and spoiler.

Oh well, this car is more of a dream than an investment. Life goes on.

Dealers are offering me 17,500. Hell no. Craigslist.net FTW. I found 20 awsome deals within a few miles of me on there.
Why sell it after one year, keep it.

1st year depreciation sux, let alone if you have sport cars (2doors) or accident w/ your car ... plus many people can afford Z so many want to buy new instead and it's readily available everywhere.... unlike GT-R, it doesn't need to be imported...so all those factors combine bring the resale value.... not that good but still good for 2-door car...

I got $21k for my 2004 Z that I bought for $24k. I put 13k mile on it in the 1 year i had it and i crashed it into a wall and got rear ended a few time. it also had a crappy paint job and the front buper was loose and crooked. The car dealer is still trying to sell my Z but no one wants it.

lol, people who call a car an "investment". Investments are things you buy that should increase in value, which cars never do, unless you are watching Barret-Jackson where they are auctioning off cars of which only 600 were produced in that particular package. And most of the cars there have more money in them than what they sell for too.

People who call there cars "investments" are probably the same kinda of people who will try to put M&Ms in alphabetical order ...............stupid

Your car does one thing monetary wise and thats depreciate. It's a money pit which is why I at least bothered to buy something that makes me happy

Yet another reason I like to buy used cars.

I bought my 03 touring a year and a half ago. The car had 19k miles on it. I paid $21,200. The sticker price on the car when the previous owner bought it was $35,200. Of course I have no idea of what he actually paid.

Currently I have just over 32k miles on the car. Edmunds values my car at the following:

Retail $22,040
Private $20,398
Trade in $ 18,562

Figuring that if I wanted to sell my car (which I don't) I could probably get between $19,500-$20,500 which means that in a year and a half the car only depreciated about $1500 compared with the previous owner who lost at least $10,000 and probably more like $12,000 when he sold it.

Then again....I didn't get that "new car smell" either.

And since I bought mine 3.5 years ago with the full intention of keeping it for a long, long time, I am not at all worried about what it is worth to someone else. It is still worth what I payed for it to me.
