Im in the market right now and have been looking around for an 04 to 06 Z. What are the easiest ways to tell what package the car has, i know you cont tell by the VIN , what are some dead givaways. I know i'm not looking for a base.
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
Well, I'll be nice and give a response to this....well, the big difference in models are...from Base to Enth....Base doesnt have steering wheel controls, the metal looking pedals, curise control....those are the main things off the bat. Enth. to Touring....Touring comes with leather, Bose Sound system, and if you are lucky enough to find it....the Navigation System. The Touring to Grand Toruing...the Grand touring has the Amber Brembo Brakes, and the Rays Superlight wheels (19 rear, 18 front). Those are the main things I look for.
there is a little thing called a freaking search. but ive got time so ill answer
Base- No VDC or traction control, Cloth Seats, no Brembo Brakes, manual tranny
Enthusiast- VLSD (viscous Limited slip differential), traction control, cruise control,
Touring- Leather Seats, power heated seats
Track- Brembo Brakes, Manual Tranny, Cloth Seats
Grand- Brembo brakes, leather seats
those are some of the most obvious differences.

Base: No controls on steering wheel
Enthusiast: TCS but no Bose
Performance: VDC but no Bose
Touring: Heated seats.
Track: Brembo brakes.
Lots of other clues but those are easy to spot.

"The above is a very good quick summary. Unfortunately, a lot of used Z's have mixed and matched "upgrades" that can make it extra difficult to distinguish a particular model. The items that are difficult to unbolt from one model and bolt onto another seem to be the best indicators of model."

True enough but, except for the Track, the items (or combinations) I listed are near imposible to switch. Track is different since brakes could be traded out.

You two are like little girls. To the OP good luck with your search
im trying to figure this out as well...i've used the search, but its kinda useless. i think its an enthusiast, but im not sure. i saw that base = no traction control, and i have that, but from this thread, apparently you can mix/match options. i have a 2005 if that helps at all....

make sure you know what it is: when i was looking i found one that was advertised as a track when all it was just an enthusiast; and the one i bought was actually a performance when the used car dealer had it for sale as a enthusiast. luckily i made out on my deal but you never know...
