Deleting the thread IMO defeats the purpose of this forum. We all gather here to talk about our experiences, good or bad, and share knowledge of products. It is not just about the vendors but more so the products that they sell. Seibon's QA was in question here. Not Jim. Most people with half a brain would see through that. But by deleting the thread that makes people question the honesty of the people who run this forum. Read into that however you like.

Jeez talk about a sponsor driven forum. People in the thread brought up the fact that the thread was going to be deleted.
Hit the nail on the head there. I was selling antennas at my dealer cost plus 2 dollars shipping. I was making NO money at all by doing this, I just thought they looked damn good and so did damn near all of the my350z community, EVEN A MOD BOUGHT ONE, then it got closed without anyone telling me. Come to find out they wanted me to become a mod to sell these. I was just doing a favor getting a cheap part for people who loved it with no money going into my pocket. I think I may cut back on my my350z'ing for a while, politics as usual.

Personally I would love to read the thread. As of right now IMO I wouldn't buy anything from Carbon LTD, just do to the attitude and the way that CarbonLTD (whoever is typing) is speaking. Prove me wrong.

People with nothing to hide have no reason to delete threads. If they stand behind their products and customer service then why delete it and come back saying oh it's because the case was closed? I faulted two people from the last thread: Austin for taking his sweet time to issue the complaint and Seibon for allowing such a poor quailty product get by their QA. If Jim sold anything else I would still consider buying from him. Just not a Seibon product. I think a lot of speical interests are being served here and my last sentence is why it was deleted.

No assumptions here... I figured (and hoped) that if it was deleted that it was mutually agreed. Like I said you came through in the end and you seem to have some loyal customers and that says a lot. If anything I'm dissapointed that the mods let it get deleted.

In general, we don't delete or lock threads just because they involve sponsors or businesses that cater to the Z community. In fact, we scrupulously try to avoid getting involved so as not to fuel the misguided belief that we are "sponsor driven".

Thread starters have the option of closing or deleting a thread themselves. Moderators will also close or move a thread only at the request of the participants, especially once they're resolved, the issue closed or they get totally out of hand.

While a lot of you feel a thread such as that one should be left in plain view, we all know that someone who comes across a long thread like that is not going to take the time to read it in it's entirety and form an unbiased opinion.

Personally, I debated closing that thread shortly after it started as it was a dispute that should have been handled offline between Austin, Jim and Seibon. Once somebody trashes somebody else, I believe the "trashee" should have the opportunity to present their side of the story and clear their name/reputation, therefore I left it open.

I remind all of you again that the problem was resolved and ask you to drop it here and not keep "rehashing the bashing". It's pointless and unfair.

Thanks - Dave

I did read the thread.
Can you comprehend English?
The point is, if Austin had not started the thread in question, there is no way in hell he would have had his issue resolved yet, if ever.
It was obvious from the beginning of the deleted thread that you had no intention on helping Austin out. You kept mentioning that Seibon would need to take care of him.

The issue has been resolved so both Austin and myself felt the thread needed to be closed.

To those questioning what happened...

I had no clue either...i neither requested that it was moved or closed...YET. I did put a post saying that Jim stepped up to the plate and worked with me on it.

As many people said...I SCREWED UP TOO. I did, however, admit that many times, and i think even in the original post. Anyways...We worked out a deal where we both shared the brunt of the problem equally. It wasn't GREAT for either of us, but wasn't horrible either. Shared the mis-fortune...and in the end, he kept me as a customer.

I would have requested that the thread at least be locked...AFTER I received everything and the deal was taken care of. But...looks like someone tooke care of it already. I do agree that having it deleted may not be the BEST idea...b/c those that did follow it might not have all seen the outcome...and that leaves a bad taste behind.

To Clear it up...Jim did make things right in the end. We still chat on AIM pretty much daily...so things are all good. Once the new hood(and spoiler!) arrive...and I accept them(they will be IMMEDIATELY thoroughly inspected, before signing the papers from the shipper), I will post pics of it all!

It still should have been left open for everyone to see the outcome and then this thread wouldn't have happened. It was obviously of some intrest to the Z community that people are still wondering what happend. I agree that the matter probably wouldn't have been resolved until it was made public from what I read in the OP's original thread. Closing a thread or deleting one would be appropriate if it were about Deltaforce or something, but about something that %80 of the Z community has a deep intrest in is another story. It sucks to be the customer and ask for help and get no response even if it's just for a day. I am in the "customer service" field all day everday. A courtesy call, fax, or email never hurt annyone to at least let someone know you haven't forgotten about thier problem. If it was the company the vendor deals with that has a hard time responding maybe the vendor should rep. a new product line from a diffrent company with better customer relations IMHO.

By the logic used here, should we also close the threads that show Jim in a good light cause they were also "taken care of"? It's not right to only allow threads that are praise worthy while the negative ones get quickly swept under the carpet.

I understand your point of view, but at the same time, like others have stated, so started reading the thread, and it got deleted before I saw the outcome. If I hadn't posted this thread, I never would have know what happened, and been left at the conclusion that carbonltd didn't take care of his customers. Since I own a G35, I don't get over here as much as on g35driver.com so I was confused when I couldn't find the thread. So please take that into consideration when deleting threads, at least leave them up for some length of time for those that are interested to find out the outcome.
