Default Missing Thread RE: Seibon CF hood from CarbonLTD

I remember a thread in here just a couple days ago with vids of someone with a bad hood but I can't seem to find it even using search. Does anyone know where that thread is or what the outcome was?

The issue was resolved to SweetDreamZ's satisfaction, here's his last post in the thread:

Guys...Jim has really done right by me now. A replacement hood is on its way...we came to a good compromise on how we would handle the inevitable monetary loss. I think he is ok with it...I know I am...

And yes...the new one will be THOROUGHLY inspected before the shipper leaves the premises!! haha...no more waiting! now I know what i'm lookin for...so it's gonna be alot better.

In my opinion...any negative feelings towards Jim should be re-thought immediately. He has gone above and beyond at this point...by helping share the money lost and by working with me on the purchase of another product. If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask me...Jim really did do his part here.

Thanks again Jim...in the end, things have worked out well.

Austin

I'd guess he requested that the thread be removed.

Jeez talk about a sponsor driven forum. People in the thread brought up the fact that the thread was going to be deleted.

Yeah, I'm glad it was resolved too. It sounds like both parties are happy.

However, I'm dissapointed it was deleted. What if another poor sap has a similar experience and it becomes a recurring theme? This old thread will be lost to everyone except those that followed it.

If it was simply locked it would have fallen into the deep without any additional posts yet still been available for searching later if need be.

Yeah......I would hate to see a vendor lose business over bad customer service?

Guys, I sent a new hood out to Austin. He even purchased a Seibon spoiler from me at the same time. There was no point in keeping that thread open when people were obviously just bashing myself and Seibon without personally purchasing anything from me and in most cases not owning anything from Seibon. The issue has been resolved so both Austin and myself felt the thread needed to be closed.

it was needed it sounds like to me, if the hood was a pos then it was a pos and I know I dont want one now... deleting the thread because it was bad for a sponsor is ridicculous. If the customer was happy we would all be looking at his pics and giving him the congrats. If he hated his experience and the product wasn't satisfactory it should be shared, thats what a forum is all about! If something sucks I can find out here and I'll know not to get mixed up or waste my money on it. Glad to hear it was worked out, maybe the thread should have stayed open so that people could see it was resolved rather than leaving everyone who read it with a bad taste in thier mouth... that looks worse than the initial fact he was unpleased.

You sent him a new hood after being exposed on these forums.
Had Austin not started that thread, you can bet your sweet *** he wouldn't have a hood yet.

Had you actually read the thread you would know that I was taking care of the situation, obviously you didn't read it.

Austin is obviosuly happy if he decided to purchase another product from me, even after we closed the thread.

I doubt it will get deleted but I'll predict it will get closed at the rate it's going. (check out TOU #15)

There's no sense in rehashing the same story when the issue has been solved to the satisfaction of the original complainant.

Although I think Jim did take care of Austin at the end and he had every right to deny the return/exchange claim based on the time frame of the complaint, I feel the issue wouldn't have been resolved as fast if the whole thing wasn't exposed in a public thread. Closing the thread would have been okay. Case closed. Issue resolved. Deleting the whole thing makes it seem fishy regardless of who was right or wrong. But once again, this wasn't the first time something got deleted because it was questionable towards a particular vendor. Once again, this is what happens in a vendor driven forum.

I guess there's only sense in it if the first one is deleted. I gave Jim props for stepping up and settling it. If anything it was a testament to Seibon quality issues and Jim's ability to provide great customer service in the end.
