Why Modify?
#41
For me, i get a certain thrill out of working on cars.
yes i LOVE modding my Z because it makes my car original. But the thing that really attracts me to modding is the ability to turn heads. When a ferrari goes driving by everyone looks and thinks damn i wonder what that person does. When an 18 year old goes by in a modded Z, people just stare in awe.
But its not all about just show mods either. I mean one of the easiest mods i ever did to my car was LED external lights (i.e parking lights, turn signals, reverse lights, license plate lights). Cost me 50 bucks for all the bulbs, and took just over an hour to do. EASY. but at night time, my car stands out from EVERY other car around here.

Dude, just get 1 mod, only 1 mod and you'll understand. It is very addicting. Example, you put an intake on, wow awesome sound, awesome look, a lil better throttle response, then you do exhaust, wow sounds a lot better! I can feel a lil more power on the butt dyno, then you do this and that and this and that. You will love your mod the first week, and then by the next couple weeks you will have gotten used to the mod and the sickness starts all over.

If the 350Z suits your needs as is then leave it alone. Its a beautiful car just the way that it rolled off the assembly line.

i own a 240sx and have owned several 240s. all of them were very modified. (engine swaps, built motors, etc...)
i used the cars for drifting.
why people choose to spend ~$10k in mods only to have a large signature on a forum is beyond me.
some people actually want to build a car to a desired goal.
others have the "mod addiction" described within this thread and will sometimes post stupid **** like "what mod should i do next?" they dont change things for a reason they just want to have a laundry list of popular/rare/bling parts to compete with others.
if i was going to do anything i would buy a used supercharger kit. i bought some 06 wheels for my 03 too. the car feels kinda slow to me and i just hated the 03 touring 18s.

now i have the z and am kinda over modding. stil like the car though.
i think modding the z kinda bastardizes it. now matter how good you think your kit and 20" chrome wheels look, the average person thinks a stupid kid owns the car when they look at it.
