Easy choice by far. Get the 06 Silverstone. The color you want, and you can get it a lot cheaper than the 07 right now. A lot of dealership are getting desperate right now to rid of the 06's.

i love my 06 a lot. i think ull like the 06 as well but the 07 does have the better motor. u can make both cars go fast as well. it all comes down too how much u care about the color or more horsepower. i say go with the 07 though

Skid,

Is it a known fact that the late model builds do not have the oil consumption problem? The 06 Silverstone had an order date of 11 or 12/06 -- I can't rememeber. Sounds like it was one of the last 06's to roll out of Japan though.

Wether it is excessive or not, I believe the key word here is "Consumption."

This is a different topic, but it's important to note that ALL internal combustion engines exhibit oil consumption to some degree. This is due primarily to cylinder deformation (although there are other, less significant factors), oil film thickness, piston ring tension, gas pressure and oil film pressure. The bottom line is that you will burn some oil over time. I haven't seen enough evidence to suggest that all 06 models burn an excessive amount of oil, so I wouldn't write off the 06 for that specific reason.

So my dealer can get me (from another dealer) a 2006 SS Touring or I can get a 2007 in a different color. Before you say just get the 07 in Carbon Silver let me tell you that I have seen the Carbon Silver in person and it is not the same thing. Its too dark for my taste.

So do I get the 06 in the color I've always wanted or get the 07 with the new motor in a color that I don't like as much as Silverstone?

P.S. -- As far as the 07 hood I think it looks ok (don't love it, don't hate it) so that really isn't a factor for me.

Thanks!!!
07= carbon silver=06 silver stone

Your chance to get the latest greatest. . .that is if you're ok with the new hood, like you say. Why spend big money on a now, older model car.

You seem to be very knowledable on this topic. Question what "in your estimation" would you consider normal consumption?
