Default My new San Marino Blue!

Just picked up my new San Marino Blue Z Enthusiast. I couldn't believe I only paid $1000 more than I paid for my 2004 Base 3 years ago. And my insurance only increased $20 every 6 months! Love the car! Of course, 10 minutes after driving off the lot it was raining in LA so there goes the nice shine the dealer put on it, but they threw in a free detail with the car. Really noticed the addition of the TCS driving around in the rain.

The color is so sweet! I put in a picture of the paint up close - it's definitely metallic. When I showed it to a friend last night he said, "I can't tell what color it is. Is it black??" Looks black at times, even during the day. I loved my Daytona Blue 2004 - got lots of compliments on that color, but it was just time for a change. So glad they came out with this color - but I don't really recommend it to anyone. It'll be too hard to keep clean. You're all probably better off with Red. Just kidding, I want to be the only one with a Z this color like I get to be for the next few weeks until they start popping up all over.

Pics attached - not sure how to put them in the message.

Awesome color! I wonder why it took Nissan this long to come out with a Dark/Navy blue paint.

A lil bit of Z history for you. The 300zx Z32 came out in a very similar dark blue, they had blue interior too, blue tends not to be very common, so the idea of the colour isn't new it's a variance on Z history.

Oh, very nice San Marino to the OP. Happy driving in your new Z.

Well I had an '04 base for the last 3 years, no real mods 'cept a JWT popcharger.

I expected this thing to feel faster with the new engine and HP jump. At first maybe I was driving real careful since I just left the dealer, but it felt kinda sluggish, like where's that TORQUE I'm used to?? Does rev much higher, and it seems like the powerband kicks in around 4K RPM and you rocket off.

Noticed that at 80 mph I used to be at 3K RPM in 6th gear in my '04, but now it's at 2500 RPM (about?). Anyway, over the first 60 miles I put on it it seemed to start to come to life - maybe adjusting the ECU? I'm of the break-in philosophy of driving it like you're gonna drive it (without being just mean and really pushing it, varying the RPM's, etc). Anyway, the ride is much smoooother than the '04.

Was that all vague enough?

So I'm thinkin of putting 2 popchargers on this thing and can't wait to hear the sound!

I would wait on the whole 2 popcharger thing. Maybe if JWT suggests it or something, i mean with the new motor and ecu it could have wierd affects.

That's what I was thinking -waiting to hear from JWT or talk to others who've tried it. But I Still can't wait!
