Another Jeep DD (for the winter at least). In the summer, Z is a DD and the jeep is the toy.

Ok so there seems to be a lot of off roaders in here, so I will post this question here too, since both Tacoma forums are as active as the 350Z frenzy site LOL........

I am trying to find as many reviews of swampers as I can. What I'm looking at right now is the LTB's. They are a bias ply tire and from what I can tell they flat spot if parked for a while (even overnight), which is my main concern but normal for that type of tire. Suposidly they go back to normal after about 15 minutes of driving. Just wondering how horrible the flat spots actually are and the vibrations they create before and after the spot goes away?

I'm also trying to figure out what kind of mileage I might get from these, with mostly pavement pounding? Most of that is just around town. I only live about 1/2 mile from work, so there is no commuting. On long drives I will be driving the Z. The only freeway miles would be to and from the trails which is a 1 hour drive each way and would probably be about twice a month.

The main reason I am interested in these is because I want an aggressive mud tire, since it will be a mud toy and in my size I can get these for $120 each, plus I have a $100 gift card. So i was thinking of waiting till they go on sale for buy 3 get one free which they do every so often or free shipping.

The worst milage review I found said somenody would be lucky to get 10,000 miles out of them, while another said 25-30,000. I don't buy the 30,000 at all but I would be very happy if they lasted 15,000 miles at that price. If I get them on sale and they just totally suck, it's not a huge loss. I can just try something more mild and a radial.

I know they are loud but then others say they are not as loud as other BFG tires. Basically for every person that says one thing, somebody will say the opposite. LOL

Anyway if anybody has any feedback, would be helpfull.

Thanks

Chad

Me too nice car !!!!

LOL - I love Z31's too. When I started this whole DD thing it was in a Z31.
I have had three turbo ones. I sold my AE to buy my 350Z.

Got to love the T-top's imo. The 350Z became my DD at the time to replace my Z31 with over 200K on her.
Now look where I'm at. My DD isn't even a DD anymore.

Why not go with something less aggressive like a BFG Mud terrain?

I agree, !!! Unless you are making a MUD only JEEP a lot of time it's not needed. However as Chad stated it might be a Mud only Jeep.
If so, it might be the ticket for him.

BTW y'all- Did you know a taller thinner tire will work better in Mud a lot of times over a wider shorter one.

Chad 68. I PM'd you some info that might help you. ;-)

1990 jeep comanche with 186000 miles on it. the engine is covered with oil and missing power steering reservoir cap. the clutch master cylinder leaks and has to be added to weekly, it has a large hole in the floorboard and is missing one arm rest and one window crank. Engine knocks abundantly but it keeps me from having to get my z dirty as i am in construction.

Shootz, I've got you beat by a long haul. 85 Sentra 300k + . One door opens, 3 windows open. Leaks water, drilled a few holes in the floor so I dont bathe in the morning to work. Came from factory with 65 ponies, prob has 40 or less now. Its a 5spd though. Dont talk to me about rust, this car has lived and resides on the Big island with all that salt air from the ocean. Whoah its got some rust. To much wrong with it to list. But it runs good (least i think so) and saves miles off my girl.

I really didn't want to run 33's so that's why I was looking at swampers because of their screw ball sizes that others don't make but they are just not right for my needs, so I decided I'm just going to go to a 33" tire which there are tons of options, so I'm going with these.....

I love these tires.
