Sales in 2009 have now exceeded the 2008 annual total with 3 months to go. Not bad considering the economy is in the crapper. Nissan/Infiniti overall sales YTD are down 26% by comparison.

The Z is one of the few Nissan vehicles to show an increase this month over last year. All other models sales are still declining.

Final sales for 2009 ... 13,117. That's 26.9% increase over 2008 total sales of 10,337. Economic conditions being as they are, that's a pretty amazing increase.

Total 350Zs... 148,625 (03-08 models)

Total 350/370Zs ... 13,117 (09 models)

Haven't updated these in a while. Z sales for the 1st quarter are way down over the same period last year. The "newness" of the 370 has worn off and deals on the few remaining 350s are drying up. At least the trend since the start of the year is up.

Not likely. Mass produced cars depreciate. Unless you have one with 100 miles on it 20 years from now, i.e. in showroom condition, that's the only way it will be worth anything significant.

Just updated new sales numbers for April 2010. Nissan no longer reported them as 350/370 but only as 370Z. I would assume that means that all 350Zs have been sold.

Sales this year through April are 3,419 units.
Grand total 350/370Z sales are 165,161 units.

The 370z sales are nothing compared to the 350z. I'm also assuming 2009 had 350z + 370z produced.

^^^ A lot of that is economy driven. The 370 was released at a time when the economy was heading into the toilet. Sales are respectable - all things considered.

Interesting stats, I wonder how many are actually on the road vs. in the junkyard.

Apparently too many still on the road....

But the good news is, 350z's will be popular for quite some time. You can swap parts from not-so-fair cars to build healthy ones.

That's a ton of VQ35DE's out there.

I think the really good news is that the G37 sales for April were over 4,200 units which is a 50% increase over April 2009 sales. As long as the G sales are strong, it helps guarantee the continued Z sales because of the shared platform and parts.

^Yeah, your right on the Z being popular. I still see many WRX/STi, Evo's around my town more than Z's. I think the Z (for the time being) is the only 2 seat RWD, that Japan makes today.

I have always been interested in the lowest cars in the production run.

I have a list of the first ten 350zs by VIN number and the last known information about them. I know the owner of VIN number 7, and VIN 1 was a charity auction car.

If anyone is interested in the list, or knows who owns them, I could post the list here.

I knew I forgot one! I was thinking about the S2000, Rx8 not being in production. I guess I forgot about one of the best selling RWD, the MX-5.

So did Nissan stop production of the 350Z due to declining sales?

No, they stopped production of the 350Z because they released the 370Z. In about 4 or 5 more years, they'll probably release the 400Z.

New numbers through May 2010 updated in post 1.

May 2010 1,217 units compared to May 2009 sales of 1,278

2010 year to date sales are 4,636 units.

Total 166,378

The bright spot is that Nissan's YTD sales are up 35% over last year.
