Good for me
Good for me

At this rate they (07s) probably won't reach 20k total for the year.

you cannot fully compare the sales trends of the 90's with todays market. todays consumer is a lot different than they were a decade ago. the 350z not only has a lot of competitors now but it also is a very impractical car. it is what we call a "specialty car" although everybody loves to have one only a few would actually purchase one-it takes a special customer. at this day and age of inequity, long term loans and subprime credit it is not as easy anymore to just walk in a dealership and "get" what you want. plus you have to factor in that these cars takes premium fuel. dont get me wrong i love my 350z and i would love to see it be a sales success but the decline in sales and the huge rebate nissan just put on these cars are not a real good sign about the cars fututre.

Averaging close to 20,000 in production sales for a impractical two seater sports car is impressive.
I also never compared any of these numbers to numbers from a decade ago.
Are you sure you're posting in the right thread?

BTW - if Nissan is giving big rebates, they sure are keeping it quiet. I get mail from Nissan monthly with promos for just about every car but have never seen a special deal on the 350Z.

The 350Z has always had competitors one way or another and it has always been impractical. It has had a great run considering how long it has been around. Furthermore it still dominates most "favourite sports car" surveys even after all this time.
Please show us the rebates you speak of, because I have never seen any on the Z

This site thinks outlook for 2008 will be strong as well, hope so, will mean a continued strong economy.

30K in 2004 doesn't seem like that many. Makes me want to keep hold of my car for a long time, not do any drastic mods and keep the miles low.
...Then again, I'm sure once I have kids my Mrs will have other ideas.

My Mrs. encouraged me to buy my Z. She's OK with just one family car (even though we just went through having to replace her car because of another driver's mistake in crossing the centerline). Thank God that Nissan builds strong vehicles -- her old Armada "gave its life" to save my wife's life (she was home that night, the other driver spent 5 weeks in the hospital -- and the other driver was also in a pretty good size SUV).
