Default Dog Days of Summer

For the first time since last winter I am bored. Last winter people were first seeing the actual car and those of us who couldn't could come here and see the pics. Then in the spring, we were all speculating about the HP, torgue and other stats. Come June we were getting boot legged stats (and our first controversy here). Then we all got our CDs and that was way cool. Next the press embargo ended and we got to read reviews of the cars. Then another controversy about whether we should call Nissan to find out when our cars were finished. And now.....nothin. Oh sure, the occasional laggard review comes out -- which says basically the same as every other review -- "The new Nissan Z is a worthy successor to the 240 Z. . . . A tremendous value ... The car turns head where ever it goes ... No glove compartment sux ... The interior is spartan and not the highest quality . . . yada yada yada." But nothing new about the Z, not even any controversy. I KNOW, I will post ZISME's home number, then everyone can call him at home to find out when there Z is to be delivered. Here it is: 972 555-5653. There, THAT should ignite some controversy around here. NAH...MAYBE NOT.

Anyway, I am going to go completely nuts, if people (preferably me) don't starting getting their Zs soon and posting about picking it up and driving it and just fricking having it.

BTW for the slow witted here (not that there are any of course), that number above is just a joke aka 972 555-JOKE.

That phone number reminded me of a good story a fellow doc pulled on a bunch of us about a year ago. He has a couple dogs and told us that Purina was running some promotion where if you called an 800# you'd get a free coupon for a bag of puppy chow. He said that he had already done it and asked if we'd call for him and give him the coupon for his dog. He then told us all that the number was 1-800-MY-PUPPY. Over the course of the next several days he got more and more people mad at him. To figure out why, just look at that number. Here's a hint: the number 7 on the dial not only contains the letter P but also two other letters. DOH!!!

Funny DOC...hee hee

Robbyn....972 area code is in Dallas.....Not California

It was funny that you made up a Dallas Area code number I just called it and oddly enough there is a Rob that lives there. I went on about when am I getting my Z and kept him on the phone for a hour. He says that he will soon post on here to have the number removed and advise us to call the dealer for information.

Actually u got close to my old phone number...LOL

(Yes it is getting boring waiting for something new to happen.)

Sorry I have been lazy and havent kept you entertained by stirring up some controversy lately I have been in hiding since the nissan went nuts when everyone called their NNA regional office.

robbyn, I feel the same way but to keep from getting bored I tore down to Herndon, Va over lunch last week to see the Blue Z at Nissan headquarters. I didn't get in it so I might blow off work for a few hours tomorrow and see the Z at the Nissan dealer in Gaithersburg. Maybe we could all get together and drink ourselves into a stupor until out Zs arrive. I also though about taking my RX7 up to Summit Point and drivng the crap out of it while I waited for my Z to get here.

I have no earthly idea how you got a hold of someone at 972 555-5653 because 555 is a reserved office code which are never given out to customers. (Its why TV shows always use 555 as part of the phone number.) Sure enough, when I dialed, I got a recording saying my call could not be completed. Yeah, I know, you were only joking....but DAMMIT I'm desperate for controversy. BTW, I used to live in Dallas, that is why I picked 972.
