In this order:
You may also want to think about what type of wheels you want and the color schemes out there. For example, IMO PPW looks the best with gold wheels.

Super Black was my first choice but my old car was black and I remembered it was a real pita to keep it clean. IMO, DB, SMB, RL and anything dark are in the same boat. I would advise you to get something with metallic because it hides the dirt better. Silverstone (Carbon Silver) and PPW hides dirt very very well.
Edit: Also swirlies are harder to see. If you go for black then forget it.

If Black was up there.. that would be my top choice.
cuz i've own a black care previous to my Z

Silver on a sports car helps you hide. White makes you stand out. They both are great colors! More tickets in a white car. They gleam as they come down the road and attract attention. Not always a bad thing though.
If I want to be seen I just turn on my headlights on my silver car.
You do have to be careful with your lights off. Sometime people don't even see you and cut your off or cut in front of you because you don't stand out.
Therefore on gray days I'll be seen with my light on most days.
Actually, these desert tan car blend in really well too....

Ha, You just offended about 50% of all 350Z owners.
But I kinda agree with you but I don't think I would say silver is "horrible". Pink is horrible. Silver is bland as hell yes but not horrible.
