I would also get a second opinion from another dealer. They can pretty much tell you anything.
You'll probably hear them say something like "We took the car for a test drive and could not duplicate the wheel falling off. We see nothing wrong".

R Nissan is awesome, I have driven there three times from jersey to get work done and order parts, they have beaten every price I threw at them (including performance nissan).
talk to Tom the service manager.
it's nice you wanna put the little guy pissing on R nissan when they support the Nissan enthusiast community(sponsors Fresh Alloy Forums). If you had a ****ty experience I am sorry, but everyone I have referred to them has been treated great.

That dealership might be able to 'fix' your car (if you trust them to do that even after that ordeal), but they can't replace your time or the MASSIVE depreciation of the vehicle. Crunch numbers on kbb. com and find a dollar amount of loss you've sustained for the equivalent of a major accident. That can't be made back, and there's definitely a dollar amount above and beyond the cost of fixing the vehicle.

Quoting absurd prices like those quoted to me on the phone is total BS!!! I had a new engine installed elsewhere for nearly 2/3 less $$ If whoever on the phone didn't know what they were talking about than that is also a poor reflection on the company. Bad experienced IMO sorry to those with better experiences at R nissan, I didn't have the same luck.

Anymore updates? Did you contact a lawer to hear your story? I was thinking you need to contact the local news station and tell them your story they love stuff like this and they will take your side no matter what. Let us know how it goes.

What you need to do
I cannot beleive you were so nice to them when you went back. I've have personally delt with situations similar to this and here's my advice
1. define your goals-what would make this situation right? personally i wouldn't want your car even if it was repaired by the best techs in the WORLD
2. grab a phone book. call lawyers until you find one who says they will get you what you want if you decide to take the legal method.
3. go to the dealership. calmly tell them you are a reasonable person and want to make this right. Tell them exactly what you want. inform them they have two choices. give you what they want or you will pursue legal methods. make sure they know exactly what they will be getting themselves into. Tell them that you will sue the dealership, the owner of the dealership, nissan international, the tech EVERYBODY. this conversation should last only a few minutes. if they refuse your request (if i were you i would ask for the newest, nicest z they have), say i will see you in court and walk.
4. get ahold of the owner. let him know you have found a lawyer and will be sueing him directly
I doubt you will have to do all of these things, imo they dealership will be getting off LIGHT if all they are out is the cost of a new Z
