.. I think people are just trying to justify their <2007's purchases now by ragging on the hood to make themselves feel better about the fact they're down a few horsepower and missing 1 pop charger

I hated the hood in the pictures but when i saw it in person it didnt seem so bad.

Damm you hood haters are ruff. In pictures it looks very noticeable and out of place, in person I love it and always have. Car looks way more aggressive and I have gotten many compliments on it but everyone has different taste and thats fine.

 

If it's an '07, it's not Lemans Sunset.

my original point is that the hood hasn't grown on me. I don't hate it, i just don't like it. usually things grow on me after a while. i've seen it several times in person and can't seem to get into it. I specifically chose the 06 over the 07 because of the hood. I love how the two lines down the hood just stab forward. It gives it a very agressive look. The new hood just looks a bit bland.

would i like the bigger/better engine? sure, but at the end of the day, the power/performance difference isn't significant enough for me. i LOVE to look at the car and if i look at the car and hate it, i'll regret my purchase every single time i look at it. and that's just not something i can abide.

GOSH Man i liked the 07 and didn't notice the hood was different? Man Now i HATE the Z all together because they changed the HOOD. I guess i will go out side and burn all my money that i was going to use on the purchace of a new SMB 07

Thee will probably still be some sort of lump in the hood to fit the new plenum.

 

Nope! Have you seen it in person? I would reserve judgment until then and then see it twice.

I think it fits perfectly with the rounded design of the rest of the car. Looks way 'tougher' in my book than the flat hood with the slits that seems to be on every other Nissan. Way to go designers, its about time they changed things up a little.

Depends on the color really and if it makes you feel any better, pop the hood and look underneath... it'll make you happier in the pants

The only people that hate the new hood are those with 06s. Coincidence? I think not! I would be pissed too. Less Horse Power, single intake, possible oil consumption issues, same old hood, etc...

 

I love hoods. They keep my engine safe.

 

I myself, prefer the older hood with the creases, but if everyone liked the same thing, we wouldn't have such a wide choice of cars and configurations. I can see the hump/bubble being there out of necessity. Just think, they could have done like ford all those years and bolt on a flat black scoop. Wouldn't that look just great?

To each his own. With the new engine, I Wouldn't let the hood stop me from getting an 07.

the hump looks good from the front and stuff, but when you look at it from the side it looks like the Z has a big hook nose like Barbara Streisand. ha ha!
