07 hood still hasn't grown on me...

Saying that you don't really care how bad it looks? "But hey, I have a 350Z anyway". I don't think that is the general consensus of those who really care about the Z's total package. Last I looked, most care about how their automobile looks as well.
Look. Most are passionate about the Z and it's heritage. Of course we want it to look as good as it possibly can. Hopefully with each year.
I hope that you're not the exception.

That was the only thing we had going for us against the ugly competetion..
I initially thought it would grow on me...but its not. The side profile looks horrendous. I honestly don't notice it as much from the front. The engine rocks though and is enough for me to justify the purchase, but that doesn't mean I'm a fan of the hood. I'd have to get black to be truly happy...

I was under the impression that the early Z's had the hump on the hood, anyway, what is the big deal, what's important is what is under, in front, and behind the hood and by everything I have seen, read, and tested the 2006's can't touch the 2007's, and for the same $$$$. Now be honest you all, if you all had the choice between a brand new 2006 and a brand new 2007 which one would you take home.

Message of the Day is:
Life is short, Break the rules, Forgive quickly, Kiss slowly, Love truly,
Laugh uncontrollably, And never regret anything that made you smile.
And most important
Never forget that opinions are like a$$holes,
"EVERYONE HAS ONE"

The '06. I love Lemans Sunset, I don't like Solar Orange and I hate the hood.
In all seriousness, you have three kinds of people:
-The people that only care about the performance and likes the sleeper look, spend all the money on performance.
-The people that only care about the Look and spend all the money on exteriors/audio/video.
-Then there are people like me, we like half and half, we like performance, but we also would ideally like the look of what we are driving around in. I don't track my car, I don't go cruising looking for a street race. I like my sports car to look good and be able to pass a car without having to make sure I have a runway-length to do it.(you can tell by my mods below that I'm this type of person)
So, yes, FOR ME, if I were thinking of trading in the 2003 Lemans Sunset for the bubblegum orange humped hood with 20-30(or whatever it is) more HP. I would tell myself to hold off, save up some money, and wait and see what the new generation Z looks like and go from there. If the new generation Z still has that hump, and the bubblegum orange(instead of lemans sunset), I'll just start looking outside the Nissan brand.
No, this is not an insult to those people who love the hump or the bubble gum coloured orange. It just means that Nissan went a different direction then my taste. And they might lose me to another manufacturer that was able to do what they did when I first saw the 350Z in 2003.

Because of Nissan's tardiness and "different direction", I wondered on over and bought a new '07 Velocity Yellow Z-51 6 speed stick, Corvette. I have two words for Nissan. . .Thank You.
I had ordered a new '06 GT back in June. Just before it came in, info started trickling in about the new latest, greatest '07. I told the dealership that I was going to wait and see what was in store. Wanted to see how much better it handled. Knew it was going to be a late arrival (Dec.). So I waited and waited and waited (like all of us) and still no info, prices, web site, or cars. They didn't get a car here until into Feb. The icing on the cake is Nissans failure, still, to apoligize for the major delays. Instead, their touting all of the other models, brands, and ignoring the great Z.
Funny thing, I was really looking forward to getting my '06 MB GT back in August. Still looks great. It was ordered (just like my '03, 6-speed Touring) because of my side air bag option. The feel was soft though and not as high performanced as I was expecting. I enjoy my '03 better. More feel to the road, lighter, and more nimble (imho).
Anyway, I finally did test drive a new '07 a week ago, just to satisfy my curiousity. Have to say, no difference to me from the '06, that I had ordered.
Bottom line for me anyway, was because Nissan dragged their $ss, they caused me to switch brands. And I am now so glad. I gotta tell ya, absolutely no comparison. When you step on the gas in a vette, hold on to your butt, because you know you're sitting behind a big V-8, with nothing but power and torgue. I'm loving it. And I got the best color.
I'm not trying to promote the vette because their two different animals. Both great in their own right. Just my story, and I'm sticking to it.
Oh, btw. I still have my '03 Z and loving Forza's Showdown, as I have two of the cars
