Finally sold my truck... time for a Z!! few ???'s...
Well, after I sold my '04 Z in May, I bought a truck. Don't know why, but I miss the Z and wanted another one so I put my truck in the truck trader in November. Finally, it sold today and will be picked up on Wed. I have a few questions before I go to the dealership.. I want an '07 San Marino Blue and I'm sure they will have to locate one. Does it cost $$ for them to have it shipped to their dealership? Also can I trust it will be take care of during delivery? If anyone has had experience with this, any advice would be great. Thanks and looking forward to joining everyone else with Z's!!
In regards to the charge, some dealerships have a destination fee they charge to ship the vehicle. Depending on how close they can find one depends on the amount. Also, any damage that occurs during shipping is their responsibility. So even if it does get messed up, they will have to fix it. Good luck on search.
You may have to order it from the factory. I don't know how many dealers will give up a hard-to-come-by "07 SM blue that going to have the transmission and model you want. If you order, you can probably get a much better deal.
If you know what you want, than try and locate the car on your own. Make the deal over the phone and fly to pick it up if necessary. This way you can get the car at invoice and spend 200 bucks to get it back to you. You'll be happy as you can break it in on the way back and won't have to wait 3 months for an order.

They have a SMB 6MT at one of the dealerships near you in buffalo. I was trying to find one around me in pittsburgh, pa and the closest was buffalo for a 6MT and 250 miles away at a carmax in MD for an auto.

The dealership does have an '07 SMB Enth. model, but it's listed just over 32k... shouldn't it be around 29k? I really don't want to finance over 28k total so getting them to that with an Enth. model would probably be too hard.

I don't think he was correct. A search of Buffalo area dealers shows only two 2007s.
Carbon Silver 6M Touring at AutoPlace on Main St Williamsville
Carbon Silver Auto Enthusiast at West Herr on Southwestern

Well, if they are going to charge me $500 bucks to bring in the car I want from another dealership, I guess I'll have to wait for the one I want to come in. Do dealerships get cars in weekly or montly or what? I have to rent a car untill I am able to buy it.

i worked for nissan not long ago. destination charge your paying for no-matter what. its included in the msrp. dealerships cant charge u extra for locating a car for u. as for locating a car.. they will locate one but they wont actually get it untill all the papers are signed(so by then it might not be there anymore. + your dealer has to have something they want for a swap if not they will have to buy the car from the other dealership. if that happens your dealership wont get a kickback. locates really suk inother words. take a few days extra. as far as tranporting if its a local dealer.. they will drive it to your dealership, unless its more then 50 miles away.(maybe different in some states) otherwise they will deliver with a trailer. if they drive it...98% chance who ever drove it their beated on it while driving to your dealership.
