50 more miles to the "red zone"
Yep...50 more miles to go and my Z will be out of probation(break in) period, and I will finally be able to see what is baby really can do.
I just noticed the left rear of bumper does not seem to line up with the body, but the right rear fit perfectly. Is it just the poor assembly from the factory, or something wrong with my Z?

if you dont know, redlining it once you get to break in is not gonna be good for the car. if you havent taken it above 4k rpm the entire time during break in then it is gonna be very hard on the engine. just be sure drive it a little harder than normal before you redline...
yeah start pushing it, theres not a magic switch.
as for the bumper, does it not line up to the quarter panel or the hatch? the hatch can be adjusted to close right, I be the bumper could be too, but probably not as easy...

I have been shifting around 3900 rpm, and few time to 4500 rpm after 1000 miles, so I think I am ready for the red line after 1200 miles. The bumper is not line up with the 1/4 panel(it's not very noticable, but I am very picky). So I took the car to the dealer this morning, and they said they will fix the bumper(realign the bumper) next Monday.
Yeepeee....i drove to Phoenix last weekend, and man, it's so much fun after the 4K RPM. I am falling in love all over again with the Z. But....I am a little disapointed with the quality of Nissan... I took the car to the dealer this morning to align the bumper. It's now align with the 1/4 panel better, but now it's not align with the tail light and the hatch perfectly. I don't want to be pain in the you know what, but i think I am going back to the dealer again to ask them to replace it with a new one. But I am still very happy with the performance of the Z>
Took my Z to the dealer again. They are going to report to Nissan and get me a new bumper. Man...I am really disapointed with Nissan's quality. But good thig is the dealer's service is actually pretty good.

Why baby it, I drove mine to redline as soon as i got off the dealers lot and have every time i drive it. If ya break it in fast you will have a fast engine, if you baby it well its your loss. I have never considered a new car break in period, just hop in and mash the pedal, but then again this is not a BMW, time will tell i guess.
