I'm nearly at the 600 miles stage so I thought I'll give it a bit when I was about to overtake a couple of snails. I changed down thru the gears, revs hit about 5000 and no power!! SLIP comes on (this all at about 50 MPH) and stays on for about 10-15 seconds when power returns. I know this is something to do with TCS but to reduce power for 10-15 seconds?

It was very disconcerting to be overtaking and find I was about 50% down on power.

Has anyone experienced this?

 

Turn off the VDC when you want to get on it. Then you don't have to wonder.

My experience is that if it's now wet or slippery I turn it off. Then I don't experience this when I want to punch the accelerator.

 

10-15 seconds? no, I get it for about 1. still longer than Id like, but if VDC is on, Im not racing, so better safe than sorry.

you sure about the 10-15 seconds??? thats a long time....

 

Yes it is that long which is why I asked....I did the same thing again and it happened again. I wondered if it was something to do with running in the the first 600 miles and if they changed settings after the first oil change. If it is'nt I'll want it repaired - I was left very exposed - not what you expect from the Z.
